Trapping and crushing you as you travel underground, if you are able to escape this, I throw several kunai in the direction that you most likely travelled (shortest route out of smoke cloud)

one stays in the smoke as I and the other 2 run out towards you were crushed by stone (all of this still within boundaries of smoke)

but I just saw your questions as a clerification request, not arguing

1 & 2. the earth spikes are infused with my chakra and when I launch them up, I can feel the resistance that they meet. Since their was none, I knew you had escaped. the only way to escape it is down, but my spikes were coming up, so I conclude either hiding in rock or, more likely, underground fish projection. I used my brain to figure that out
I did launch my spikes and thats how I knew you weren't there.3. I make spikes at same time as you go underground, that is the timing, but you slipped away. I assumed the direction that fastest leads you out of the smoke cloud, so I know a general area where you are, enough to revolve split you.
4 & 5. You said FAR AWAY in caps, because my smoke cloud is huge and underground fish projection is not an instant thing, so it takes time for you to escape. I have enough time to recognize you are gone and react by using split earth when you are still underground (even with hand seals).
So I have caught you underground when trying to escape. that is my logic and it makes sense.

I don't think you understand. I DID in fact catch you because I had noticed you escaped, knew which direction you were travelling underground and had time enough to revolve split you because it takes awhile to escape

I should do the long face because I explained this.
-You used UFP same time I used spikes.
-I explained in previous post how I knew you escaped and which direction you were travelling.
-I used Revolving split to get you underground because UFP is not time/space, you must travel for a few seconds to avoid my GIANT smoke cloud.
Revolving split does not need pinpoint accuracy, I am crushing all earth in the nearby area that I focus the jutsu on. I knew your general location and crushed you.

I recognized you had escaped and estimated your position. this is in my head so, more or less instant. you entered earth as my spikes rose. You cannot travel faster then I can make hand signs and use revolving split.
