Alot of good threads on narutobase are deleted. Why is that? Because people on here have different oppinions on certain topics? Isnt the point ob NB to share your oppinion with others? I understand that unnecessary ''wars'' break out and people start bashing characters and eachother. But where is the freedom of speach and oppinion?

Can anyone tell me why it is better to delete threads because a few people are ''breaking the rules on it'', than just deleting certain responses?

Deleting few posts won't stop them from posting more and more shit. However deleting the thread ends it altogether and saves the time and trouble. If a new thread is made, it can get reported again and deleted. Simple as that...

In the end breaking rules is going to have consequences, be it infraction, thread deletion or a ban.

If this logic is applied, lets say we have a really good thread, an awsome prediction for instance. It is an awsome read, alot of people will enjoy it and will debate over it. Then some jackass will make a stupid response causing some character bashing, and the awsome thread will be deleted because of it. That is major bullshit. My oppinion is that threads should stay, even the ''stupid'' comments, because people have the right to their own oppinion.

That's the thing. If the thread itself gets reported then it's going to get closed/removed. If a single post within the thread is then the person might get banned from the thread, post removed or a day ban.

Threads aren't closed, trashed or deleted without a valid reason. We delete threads where extreme rule breaking has happened or when it spirals out of control. We also delete repeated threads, off topic threads or any thread that otherwise needs to be deleted. Don't forget that most of the sections have stickied guidelines on what threads can be made and what can't be made and read the Global Rules.
