Well for Kisame, it's just simply absorbing chakra. We can go all day about how he wouldn't notice or some other BS but the point is that he has the means to counter act most if not all Ninjutsu. (If he has Samehada)

The other three I stated are eye technique users. All being able to see chakra, they have time to deal with it unlike the others.

Nagato can blow it away with a shinra tensei which blows everything back, no matter what it is.

Itachi is iffy but I think Sussano provides cover unless the bombs can irradicate that too which I kinda doubt.

For Tobi, all it is to dodge is to become intangible which he is known for spamming.

Could it not?? Sure he could withdraw from the fight and return, that's if its no longer air-bound.

You're right about Zetsu, I forget about him all the time. But kakuza has much more experience, all elements including lightning (which has the advantage on Deidara). He is also very durable and isn't slow. Konan can disperse into paper and quickly move away from explosions. She could also distract him with clones and plant explosive tags on the bird he will most likely be flying on, which would make the entire thing explode. That might not work, but frankly deidara isn't to good a strategical thinking when it comes to defense. Sasori would be able to switch his heart with many different puppets. When he releases his puppet army, I can see him taking deidara with relatively no problem.

I'm sorry since I'm nit-picking a bit, but it seems that Deidara's defense stems a lot from his clone feints (besides the long-range natural advantage and that jazz). Plus his reactions are actually pretty fearsome, and I feel that people don't treat it well enough because he has the whole "long-range = slow" stereotype.

I did forget about those clones. But I don't think any of the other Akatsuki besides hidan and zetsu would be attacking him face to face. Or face to exsplosive clone I should say.

It's definitely true that the explosive clone could fail to hit somebody long-range depending on who the enemy is. Also I'm not sure but I think that Deidara has used C4 "clones", or C4 bombs the size of a regular clone before against Sasuke (the second time, not the big-ass one). Some ninja won't get affected by it, like if Sasori smacks it with Iron Sand or Kakuzu fires an elemental attack at it (hopefully lightning release), but both of them also have close-combat moves, so there's still some risk/chance involved there.
