Well, it's logical to see that wood jutsu alone doesn't stand a chance against explosive jutsu of diedara. However, you people are forgetting a few things;
1. Wood Jutsu is combination of Earth Jutsu & Water Jutsu.
2. Deidara needs time to prepare his attacks even thou once they are prepared he can execute them fast.
3. Deidara is long range fighter, however, Yamato is long range, mid-range and close range fighter.
Yes, Deidara can us C2, C3 and C4 jutsu to rearrange the environment, but Yamato flood the place with water and force him into the sky. While, weaving and dodge explosive attacks, possible, grow trees & wood to block a couple of attacks or summoning a gaint wall of earth as well. Whatever, keep avoiding Deidara attacks to counter-attacks.
If deidara uses the microscope explosive attacks just submerge himself into the flooded area of water. Remember, we don't know if his explosives are water proof. But, we do know that they are Water Jutsu that can flood the surrounding area.
Yamato, counter-attack........
First, counter him by growing some huge tree trunks at him as if you are trying to hit him, but you are actually surroundering him, therefore, limiting his movements.
Secondly, shooting water at him like some water cannon shot, yes we have seen Water Jutsu like this before.
I mean Yamato would definitely find him it difficult but it possible that Yamato can win
