Deoidara would win, jinton requires him to stand still to form, and deidara can fly and throw bombs at him, onoki's age wont allow him keep up for too long in high speed fighting in the air.

Onoki would take this battle mid-high diff.

As we've seen a brief confrontation between deidara and onoki, we witness onoki managed to escape a deidara clone grabbing onto him with one of his own clones ( remember this caught onoki off guard and he had barely enough time to react). Deidara is based on far ranged fighting however onoki can adapt to this type of fighting style as he can also fly as fast as deidara can, deidara even states that onoki is faster now than he was during his prime.

Deidara is most probably guna start by throwing the c1 bird bombs, this can be easily dodged by onoki and if dedara somehow manages to catch him all onoki has to do is create the earth style golem to protect himself which has proven to be effective against his explosions.

The C2 dragon will probably be one of the most pesky jutsu to escape since it can spit out guided missle like dragons to stalk the prey persistantly as well as the main dragon, for this onoki would most probably have to use Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World Technique to hold the dragon captive and explode it from the inside out, of course this jutsu takes prep time so he would need some rock clones as a deversion to distract deidara and hold him off. The clay dragon consumes alot of clay and as a result deidara would most probably use this C2 dragon as a last resort.

Deidaras C3 could be a big problem also but since this is a linear attack (it cant follow the opponent so is basically just a bomb) this gives onoki time to escape the jutsu since it has to fall first before exploding, hes not exactly going to throw the bomb unless he gets a clay clone to grip onto onoki and explode it whilst hes gripped onto him in which case onoki could use Earth Release: Added-Weight Rock Technique
to add weight to either deidara himself or the bomb causing it to drop much faster resulting the clone getting dragged down and onoki making his hasty escape.

C4 is a malicious one for onoki to handle since it was made to defeat sharingan users the bombs are to small for onoki to see however, encasing himself with the rock golem will protect him from this IF he does it in-time, it will erode the golem but ultimately onoki is safe.

Since onoki can pick things up as big as islands, throwing something as or half the size as madaras meteorite technique would prove hard to evade since the scale of the rock restricts places to run.

Fight one goes to deidara high diff, like i said, onoki's jinton means he stays still, and deidara's bombs will take advantage, and since deidara enjoys fighting high speed in the air, onoki wont be able to keep up for too long, also rock techs would be limited in the aur as well.

Fight 2 goes to deidara high diff,c3 is dropped on the ground, useless to a flying opponent, unless there are civilians there and onoki pulls a gaara stunt. Otherwise the same thing as fight one

Sorry about that. Assume in situation 1 Deidara has it and in situation 2 Deidara doesn't. How do you think it would impact this fight ?
Okay, I'll give just a basic idea of how i think both fights would go. Or more accurately, How Deidara would fight in both Scenario's, since Onoki wouldn't really change battle styles in either scenario due to it being basic knowledge.

Oh, and of course, who i think wins. I'll go further into an explanation if anyone decides that they would to refute.

----

Scenario 1: Deidara has C3

In this Scenario Deidara would more than likely try to use this as the finishing blow, Since unlike when he fought with Gaara, He doesn't have to capture Onoki. The Reason for this is since he had it prepped before battle, he basically has a Bijudama level attack that he can use for free.

Now, Two things have to be accomplished for C3 to catch Onoki.

1. Deidara has to have Onoki in the Blast Radius while he himself is outside of the radius.

2. He obviously has to be above Onoki, and quite a good distance.

This can be accomplished in a few ways. Although it will not be easy since the fight has a high probability of taking to the skies and Deidara has to tread lightly to accomplish the above requirments. The Easiest way would be with a Nendo Bunshin.

This same tactic that fooled an experienced sharingan user would surely fool Onoki. (also note he was able to fool 2TK Naruto with a Nendo Bunshin)
By the time Onoki Relizes that its was a kage bunshin Deidara has already dropped C3.

Deidara Wins this Mid-High Diff.

----------------

Scenario 2: No C3

In this Scenario Deidara would fight Much More Aggressively. Deidara would more than likely go for a C4 kill than anything else. Since Onoki is primarily a Ranged fighter. The Same Tactic that worked on Sasuke (and would work for C3) wont work here. Onoki wont come within range of the small C4 Nendo Bunshin Bubble. Therefore, Deidara would have to rely on the Garuda to get the job done, and it will do just nicely in this situation.

Due to the massive size of the Garuda. Onoki's Jinton wont be able to cover the entire Jutsu. Some C4 Is bound to escape. Intel Also dicates basic knowlege, Onoki will just think he stopped a massive exploding Nendo bunshin. Completely Unaware of the roaming C4 in the Air.

Deidara takes this High Diff.

-----

These were really short explanations and what I thought from the get go. I could possibly change my opinion once i see more of the debate.

The c1 and c2 bombs aren't dodged as easily as you make them out to be.

Shape Specialization and Tracking Nature of Clay Bombs

Deidara's Clay bombs have two very unique properties which take hsi fighting style to the next level rather than the basic use of explosives on different magnitudes.

-His clay bombs are capable of tracking which mean they act similar to kamikaze projectiles which follow the opponent until they are manually detonated.

This would be the perfect counter to Sasori's fighting style as it mainly consists of manipulating a puppet while his body itself is stationary.

-The second vital property is the shape specialization of his smaller bombs (C1 and C2) which can be molded into various different creatures.

This could act as a method to attack Sasori in many different ways and directions adding an element of unpredictably to his fighting style.

Insect-shaped Clay bombs could be used for sneak attacks, once they land on the target they can detonate at point blank range (see Deidara vs Gaara)

Bird-shaped Clay bombs could be used as his aerial and most effective tracking explosives which could be used to overwhelm him from various directions or compensate for the range of the battle as a long range battle alternative(when he is using his C2 Dragon).

Snake-shaped Clay bombs could be used to attempt ground attacks by hiding behind the terrain and springing surprise attacks when Sasori attempts to dodge explosions he can't defend against.

Here, the aerial tracking bombs would serve him best in both putting intense pressure on Oonki forcing him to keep mobile for a large period time. Considering Deidara knows about Jinton, he seems fully capable of both being extremely wary of his opponent and fight cautiously unlike he did against Sasuke.

Jinton possess the fundamental weakness of needing the user to both remain stationary and requires charging, both things that are potentially exploitable by the opponent especially against aerial opponents.

The C1 bombs which take relatively chakra and are capable of tracking Oonki would fufil the role of offsetting any Jinton offensives he attempts to use, greatly depleting Oonki's lethality in this fight.

Good points although their are counters for most of deidaras moves

Like you said for C1 and C2 they arnt that easy to escape which is why i should of brought up Earth style Moving earth core, by flying close to the ground and out speeding the C2 dragons he can look back, See how far the drago in behind him and simply either
1) block their path by raising the ground
2) or making sure the dragon goes in the exact spot he wish and raises the eath Upwards ultimately hitting them from dowwards up OR crush them from wall to wall for example he flies in a rock rich area, both walls are surrounding him and the C2 dragons he can then close the walls in to the dragon resulting it getting crushed

Of course as ive stated that he could use the rock golem tech to block the c1 as we've seen it blow up something as big as a deidara clone so blocking this would require mid concentration since we've seen him block a exploding deidara clone WHILST being caught off gaurd.

I believe the only reason the spiders caught gaara is because
1) he was caught off gaurd and was too busy protecting the village
2) the clay mixed in with his sand so no matter what he did at that point he couldn't evade it in time

For onnoki these are only useful if he had some of material that the clay could merge with so that they could crawl around him without onnki knowing a thing, but because they are dropped the spider and snake like bombs would move liner and for onnki this would prove effortless as these kind of bombs arn't like guided missiles

Since he has to be stationary to do jonton He could use the very same technique jiraiya used to go SM and just remember it takes alot longer to go SM than to do a jinton, only in this scenario he gets a rock clone and locks onto its shoulder so he himself is completely still whilst the clones fight off deidaras bombs and distract it, if for any reason the bombs follow the real onnki the clone does rock fist or rock golem to defend them, once they are within range he fires the jinton

Deidara foolishly challenged a face off between his his explosive art and the jinton, he would be willing to do this again (last time he got called back by kabuto so we didn't see the clash) His cocky nature will be the downfall of the match because he always wants to prove his art is the best, Onnki may use this to his advantage and manipulate deidara without deidara even knowing it!

A little counter i thought of (which would be a counter too) for mostly C1 would be the Earth style: rock fist followed by Earth style light weight rock technique to make his rock fist considerably lighter so he can: punch faster and add more damage by adding rock to the fist so he can punch away the bombs, if the fist itself is bigger than onnki then he wont have to worry about the bomb hitting him.
