Why are people saying Onoki wins because his attack is more lethal? Whether Deidara hits Onoki first or Onoki hits Deidara first decides the match because both characters are capable of killing the other in one blow. Both are equally fast in the air, both can use special clones. I'd say they both have chances at winning. I'd give it to Deidara because he can spam multiple bombs in a short period of time and IIRC, they are guided missiles so a forward doton shield isn't defending Onoki as guided missiles can come from behind.

Onoki who takes flight, easily counters it by engaging Deidara since he himself won't be caught up in it and Onoki already caught up to Deidara in canon. Not to mention the preparation is more than enough for Onoki to prepare Jinton.

Deidara is easily the most overrated character on this site. In character, he is not as perfect as you make him out to be. His attacks have more flash than anything. Sasuke easily evaded all of Deidara's clay bombs bar the big one. Onoki can easily Jinton the huge clay structure, or just outrun the smaller ones via flight. Onoki was superior to Deidara back before Deidara said Onoki got better with age. He is just too experienced and savvy to lose to Deidara, a cocky and arrogant opponent.
