Samehada was able to pin-point Hachibi becomes it was hungry for chakra, like any hungry savage beast. Samehada might be smarter then your average shark, but no smarter then a dog. Dogs can lead humans to places, but what they can't do is tell the owner what is before him, Samehada might be expressing fear and trying to indicate that their is a threat before them, but he can't explicitly tell Kisame that C4 is there so Kisame will have to guess that bit. And even still, if someone walks up to you with a knife, the dog won't always point it out even if it sees the knife, same thing with Samehada, it might not recognize C4 as a threat, it sees Jutsu on the daily and there is no reason to believe that C4 is something that its master has not countered before (from its point of view of course).

But you're not getting my point here, let me break this down:

  • Deidara creates the huge clay sculpture, Kisame decides to fall back. [A natural reaction when you see a huge creature made out of explosive clay in front of you]
  • The clay sculpture erupts, with no visible huge explosion.
  • Kisame will note the fact that while the sculpture seemingly had no effect, Deidara is still keeping his distance, while at the same time, Samehada shows a sign of panic at the cloud of Chakra that she senses is coming their way.
  • Kisame, being the intelligent, experienced ninja that he is, decides to either retreat further, merge with Samehada, or better yet, both.
That is my sole point. The sword doesn't need to inform Kisame of the C4's nature, all it needs to do is alert him to the incoming Chakra of the opponent.

As for the dog metaphor, you're taking that too far. The sword is sentient. It has shown the ability to comprehend orders and follow them, and it has displayed feelings, along with the ability to communicate these feelings to others. Why on earth would the sword just stay silent when it feels a huge cloud of hostile, unfamiliar Chakra coming its way, while its owner, who it has known and battled alongside for years, doesn't seem to be aware of this?

Your dog example is far off for one simple reason; Samehada's entire being revolves around Chakra. Through its sensory powers, it can determine who is, and who isn't, a worthy wielder, and through its abilities [Sensing Chakra, absorbing Chakra], it can aid its master, creating a beneficial relationship for both partners. Just because a dog won't necessarily recognize a knife as a threat, you argue that Samehada will simply stay put when faced against a technique which revolves around the opponent distributing his Chakra wide across the battlefield, whereas Kisame won't be able to sense it himself? Frankly, I don't see it.

Kisame wins this

--1000 feeding sharks as well as large scale suitons allow kisame to attack deidara from long distances

--subterranean voyage enables kisame to counter C4 and C3 quite well, and his Samehada can still absorb C1 bombs

--kisame forms the water dome and proceeds to blitz deidara, and sucks him dry thus finishing him off, or he can just use GSB and use his sharks to eat deidara up

--if kisame manages to close the distance then through the use of water prison to immobilize him and Samehada absorbing his chakra as well as repairing kisame from any damages dealt allows kisame to win this

Kisame is not overly smart, he has a 3.5 in intelligence, and he has never done anything noteworthy in that department in the manga. It won't take as much time as you are making it out to take for C4 to reach Kisame. It explodes, he notices that nothing happened and Samehada starts panicking, he says something along the lines of "what's wrong" and by that point it will have already reached him. Fusing with Samehada is not instant either.

Eh, I don't think the fact that the explosions can't be absorbed plays too much of a part here. As I mentioned in my earlier post, Kisame should be able to react to the majority of Deidara's attacks. He was able to react to an explosive that was about to detonate away from him, and was able to in the time it took for the device to actually explode. Who's to say that he won't be able to do the same with Deidara, who has a habit of flying well above his enemies while attacking them?

And even so, if Deidara does manage to get a damaging hit off on him, the fact does remain that Kisame still has Samehada on his side. As I already mentioned, I doubt he'll receive much injury from the explosion in the first place, and even so, the damage he does actually receive shouldn't be anything above what Samehada has been shown to heal. Take into account the fact that even while he may not be able to absorb Chakra from Deidara's attacks, Kisame still has immense Chakra reserves on his own, quite enough for him to heal against any damage he'd receive from a bomb detonated at a long range.
Flawless. I can agree with that.

Also, I do highly doubt that Deidara will be able to go underground. Firstly, you must consider the sheer size of the dome. Take a look at the , and then consider the fact that even he was hilariously dwarfed by the Dome. Deidara would have to swim a heck of a long way if he means to get down to the bottom [Note that he's also going to require oxygen while he's at it], while at the same time avoiding Kisame himself, who will be able to keep up with Dei with no effort at all. Even if Deidara decides to whip out clones/clay creations, in order to attempt to overwhelm Kisame, Kisame can simply do the same, and summon clones and sharks to his aid.
I didn't made it clear when i claimed he could go underground, but my idea was based on a previous claim.

Like i mentioned before, Deidara can mold his clay to fit a different environment.
He could make a bigger and better version of the fish he used against Isobu and use it to swim to the bottom of the dome. Of course 'Kisamehada' would still be faster, but with this distinct, specialized form of C1, if he figures out what do fast, he has a chance to reach the ground before he gets caught.

While its true that he can create more sharks than Deidara's clay, it should be noted that Deidara's explosions have a certain AoE, which would allow him to take out more than one shark at a time.
Not claiming he could out trade Kisame, just showing that if he's outclassed, its not by a huge margin.

As for the C4, why should he not be able to sense it? If we were talking about a single nano bomb, then sure, I'd agree with you, but we're talking about a of them. If Sasuke's eyes managed to distinguish the Chakra, why should a sensor not be able to feel the large cloud of Chakra coming his way, and determine that the best course of action would be to keep a safe distance? [Especially when you take into account the fact that he'll see Deidara himself keeping a safe distance from the shroud]
I'm not sure, the methods are way too different and there's not enough info.
Sasuke physically saw the bombs, which allowed him to determine the best way to follow up. A sensor can only sense chakra, it shouldn't be able to 'see' what's coming in a detailed way.

As for the C0, that's gonna take Kisame out, I won't argue against that. Of course though, in that case, Deidara will be out too, so at best it'll be a stalemate. :b

I used to think Deidara won this, but after giving it some thought I see Kisame winning more often than not.

-Kisame should start off the battle by spitting out a large body of water, going into it, and merging with Samehada. He has time to do this since Deidara at the same time will focus on creating a clay bird, taking flight, and prepping C1/C2
-He can use water clones to confuse Deidara and make him target a clone instead of the original.
-He can summon sharks and have them swim after the smaller bombs. Deidara's clay creations most likely aren't as fast underwater as the sharks. So if the clay animal is small enough, the sharks will be able to swallow the clay bombs and then swim away from Kisame. When Deidara explodes the bomb, the shark will blow up but Kisame should be a safe distance away.
-Anything short of C3 is outright tanked. When Kisame merges with Samehada, he can absorb the explosions. If he isn't able to completely absorb it, Samehada heals him from the damage he receives.
-Kisame can summon his thousand sharks and have them go after Deidara. It won't matter that he's airborne since his sharks can "fly" by encasing them in a bubble of water like .
-When he's merged with Samehada, Kisame is a sensor - so he can sense the C4 nano-bombs and swim out of their range

Most likely scenario, Deidara runs out of clay and is eventually overwhelmed by sharks.
Well done. Plus rep.

Kisame pulled this off despite starving in Samehada for weeks.

Kisame med diffs Deidara.

C4 is a 2nd to last resort tech, the match is over before it can be pulled out.

C4 is also countered by hiding in Samehada so....
