Kisame can only absorb the chakra if he physically makes contact with samehada, or there is a chakra shroud visible, so no.

Kisame, people cling to C4 too much. I have reason to believe Kisame would finish Deidara before it or react to the massive jutsu (the bomb keeps inflating) with his longest range jutsu, namely Suiton Daikodan. This is a pretty likely scenario considering he would have no other way of reaching Deidara.

Even then, can't Kisame sense chakra and would know the C4 is not a dud but instead an underlying technique ?

Yeah if. First of all Kisame is not as fast as Deidara, second of all, Deidara' s bombs can move and sneak up on Kisame.
