Deidara stomps C3 ends this battle it's village level. Until Kakuzu fans come up with a legit argument on how he could survive it i have no reason to go into farther detail on how Deidara stomps him.

C2
We saw a very large amount of C2 usage in Deidara's battle against Hebi Sasuke, in which we learned very much about it's abilities and the extent to which they reach. Deidara's C2 barrage comes from his

dragon. As we saw against Sasuke these missiles are

And Kakuzu's shown the ability to

through the Earth, so he can quickly move to a safe position. Also, as it's been shown many, many times, Kakuzu's hearts can function independently of his body, so they can all scatter in different directions if need be.
All of the above, is just avoidance, however. I'm going to prove why Kakuzu can effectively withstand Deidara's C2 explosions, and it's actually quite simple. You see, Sasuke withstood Deidara's C2 bomb through
You must be registered for see links

By Nature, Grudge Fear is a defensive jutsu designed for withstanding attacks. If this counter is shaky to you, that's fine, I understand. Kakuzu will have his hearts out by this time in the battle anyway, and he'll be firing jutsu's of equal destructive capability back at Deidara, so the explosions will negate one another. However, I won't get to in-depth because I'm going from the ground up here.
The Great Debate: C4
Let's look at the explanation of C4 Garuda:
You must be registered for see images
"...Breathe in the gas.." That's just it. I'm going to come right out and say it now: Kakuzu doesn't breath, and I will tell you why.
In real life, our hearts need oxygen to function. Kakuzu, does not:
You must be registered for see images
How does a living, beating heart operate separate of the body? Well, simple. That's Kakuzu's jutsu. He does it through chakra, just like Sasori and just like Hidan, who both have feats of performing tasks that normally require oxygen without oxygen.
Kakuzu's heart creatures have no bodily organs, and neither does Kakuzu. (Besides hearts of course)

, and it was directly said afterward that it was the
You must be registered for see links
. The only time we saw blood drawn from Kakuzu was when he was hit through the heart, and obviously hearts contain blood.
Another reason is talking talking. Yes, talking. We normal people need to breath to talk, but in Naruto verse this is not the case. Sasori can talk, yet all he has is a chakra heart. Kakuzu can talk, yet the only organ he possesses are hearts. Just a little point establishing that Kakuzu isn't an anomaly in NV, as it's been shown that something like this is possible.
On The Defensive: Kakuzu's Base Counters to Deidara
Deidara's Airborne Offense: ExplanationDeidara has two airborne combat Clay Creatures he uses in battle, one for speed, and one for power. The C1 Bird and the C2 Dragon.
C1 Bird:
You must be registered for see images
This bird is evasive and quick, fit for airborne battle's of speed and versatility. This is the bird Deidara used against Gaara, which was capable of evading and maneuvering throughout Gaara's defenses, but unlike the C2 Dragon, it doesn't carry heavy C2 Fire Power and requires Deidara to make all of his explosives by hand. As shown against Gaara, Deidara had to meticulously maneuver in and out of Gaara's defenses to get a shot on him, and even after slipping through his Ultimate Defense, the attack still was not enough to finish off Gaara. So this bird isn't a good option against Kakuzu, as Deidara needs all the firepower he can get against him. However, I will post Kakuzu's offensive retorts and counters to it.
C2: Dragon
You must be registered for see images
The C2 Dragon launches a slew of offensive barrages composed of, obviously, C2 Chakra. They create large explosions and is the perfect Air vs Ground offense. The drawback of this big guy is that's slow moving and very clunky. It was easily cut down by Sasuke's Chidori: [
You must be registered for see links
]--> [
You must be registered for see links
]-->[
You must be registered for see links
]. Why, it's only dodging feat came against
You must be registered for see links
. The idea that Deidara untouchable and invulnerable up there is false, because the main center point of the defense is land mines:
You must be registered for see images
"They corner their opponent from the air and the ground." Obviously, Obito won't be present to plant land mines, which is his duty:
You must be registered for see images
So the land mines won't be effective because Deidara won't have anyone to plant them for him.
Deidara is a sitting duck in the sky, with 3, possibly 4, elemental barrages coming at him from all sides.
Offensive: Bringing Down the C2 DragonSweeping maneuvers are most effective against this Colossal Dragon, firing from all angles and luring into certain areas. Kakuzu's best strategy would be to connect with the fire and wind masks like he did
You must be registered for see links
, and keep the Water and Earth masks behind with the Lightning Mask on the side. Let's look at the ability of some of Kakuzu's jutsu:
You must be registered for see images
Atsugai is a large scale win based attack, with, as said above, "destructive power on par with a natural disaster." Wind style functions as a sword and a shield, deterring anything that comes near it while attacking anything in from of it. This jutsu will definitely stop any C2 Missile in it's tracks, or for good measure, the Fire and Lightning Hearts can get in there with their elemental assaults. Also, before I go any further, let me establish something. Kakuzu would know Deidara uses Doton.
A.) They use the same hand signs:
You must be registered for see images
You must be registered for see images
B.) Deidara doesn't hide his hand seals:
You must be registered for see images
To put it simply, Kakuzu uses Atsugia/Zukkoku head-front on the C2 Dragon (Which has a much larger scale than Shuriken, I might add), and follows in kind with
You must be registered for see links
. The C2 Dragon has no speed feats to suggest it can even dodge Gian, let alone the combo I just described.
Which, I might add, has a longer range than Sasuke's
You must be registered for see links
, and it's more than capable of replicating the effect since it's equal to Raikiri:
You must be registered for see images
(Equal jutsu of the same element cancel each other out)
And it'll do even more because it will increase it's number of lightning attacks.
You must be registered for see images
To put it simply, Kakuzu and his heart bring down the dragon the same way Sasuke did, a sweep followed by a direct attack, without the drawback of having to focus on Land Mines.
Offensive: Bringing Down the C1 Bird
You must be registered for see images
Bringing down the C1 bird is tricky, but what is equally tricky is putting down Kakuzu while on the C2 Bird. Deidara would only have access to the C2 Explosives he personally creates, without having automatic-access ones stored inside his bird. Due to the strength in speed, Kakuzu will have to adjust into his
You must be registered for see links
. This mode is made up of only 3 hearts, one serving as the body stabilizer, and the other two forming on the outside.
Kakuzu can have 2 hearts roaming, using them for various purposes, but best fit elemental set would be:
Body Heart: Earth
Roaming Hearts: Water and Fire
Attached Hearts: Wind and Lightning
The Water and Fire Hearts will watch Kakuzu's blind spots while the Wind and Lightning Hearts will deter incoming explosives, should they get through the first two. Should those four hearts be bypassed, the Body Heart will harden the body to tank the explosives. Of course, this is an offensive strategy, but offense and defense have to coincide with one another to pull of a victory.
How he Brings Deidara Down:
Kakuzu will charge
You must be registered for see links
, while
You must be registered for see links
at Deidara. These tendrils work as a sword and a shield, as they will intercept any incoming explosives, while Kakuzu's roaming hearts will watch his back. Furthermore, these tendrils all work separately, so they can splinter off in separate directions while staggering their strike time so as to keep Deidara on the move. Kakuzu's Tendrilsa fast

After this, Kakuzu will attack with
You must be registered for see links
to wherever it is Deidara is dodging, and then follow with Gian. This combo can go on for a while really, if Deidara's miraculously able to dodge it when he was caught through similar sweeping tactics against Gaara.
This leaves the possibility of Deidara being a
You must be registered for see links
, but this will backfire on Deidara, because if he does try to take Kakuzu off-guard, should he succeed, his hearts will
You must be registered for see links
, and kill Deidara along with his bird. Destroying Deidara's bird won't cause an explosion, because it still has to be detonated by Deidara, and he can't do that if he's dead. Also, the misconception od Deidara being uncatchable on this bird is false,

Establishment: Kakuzu Can Outlast Deidara
You must be registered for see images
In a back and forth ninjutsu slugfest, which this battle could very well turn out to be, chakra levels and stamina mean everything. So, an important establishment would be who would win in such a battle? I'll be proving why Kakuzu wins in this field. Kakuzu's Chakra Reserves, Untapped Potential
Kakuzu, as we all know, was defeated by FRS prior to running out of steam against Naruto. When he activated his Long-Range Jutsu he produced a build up in Chakra:
You must be registered for see images
Suggesting that even after his extended battle with Team 10 led by Kakashi, Kakuzu still had a large amount of chakra left to change form twice. Furthermore, his hearts can use jutsu independently, meaning they have their own chakra pool. Obviously, it's tapped from the hearts Kakuzu stole. Kakashi says the chakra elements were taken out of the chakra tubes:
You must be registered for see images
And given the fact that Chakra tubes lie all across the body, as Hyuga's have demonstrated, it's safe to say all their chakra resides in their hearts. Simply, "Chakra ext rated from chakra tubes---> Chakra tubes are all across the body." Kakuzu possess five chakra's, not just one.
So considering Kakuzu was capable of going toe-to-toe with 4 people, and was only killed after reinforcements arrived, it's safe to say he can outlast Deidara. Reason being, Deidara himself ran out of Chakra
You must be registered for see links
, and Kakuzu has counters to all of the jutsu Deidara used in that battle. (Elaborated on in my Defensive Analysis)
(Insert DB stats agreeing with me here)
“Jiongu: On the Defensive"Earlier I covered Kakuzu's base form's counters to Deidara, so now I'll show Kakuzu's defensive and offensive counters to Deidara's explosives, for the sake of variety.

Let's take a look at the abilities of Kakuzu in this form.

-He can jump

-His tendrils can all

-Jiongu is composed of 3 hearts, therefore 2 remain on the outside defending. C1 and C2
How does this help Kakuzu against Deidara? Well,
You must be registered for see links
countered Deidara's C2 Mines. Since, as shown above, Kakuzu can jump very high and very far, he could counter the very same way.
Since his tendrils can all
You must be registered for see links
, they can intercept incoming bombs or missiles, while the masks attack with
You must be registered for see links
. All of Deidara's explosives, barring the mines, require Deidara to activate the explosives remotely. If these explosives are say, being blown back at him with
You must be registered for see links
, Deidara wouldn't even think to detonate it because he could get caught in the explosion as well. Furthermore, he admits that the only the only reason he survived a close range explosion was because he
You must be registered for see links

Kakuzu can use

You must be registered for see links
, Kakuzu can attack them with his tendrils like he does against
You must be registered for see links
, and intercept Deidara's C2, and then follow with Gian to deactivate the missile. If another missile follows, Gian can splinter off into a second bolt:
You must be registered for see images
And effectively deactivate that missile as well. Furthermore, the concept of intercepting with his tendrils leaves his Wind and Fire Hearts unoccupied, therefore leaving openings for them too, to defend with their ninjutsu.
Deidara's
You must be registered for see links
, which were withstood by a
You must be registered for see links
, would also be countered through Kakuzu's Short Range ninjutsu. As the Rock Golem showed, elemental attacks can work fast enough to withstand such quick assaults, however, since Jiongu from is only composed of 3 hearts, the other 2 could theoretically intercept the Jutsu before it reaches Kakuzu, specifically the Raiton Heart's, who's ninjutsu boasts very high speed:
You must be registered for see images
C3 and C4
I've stated earlier how Kakuzu offensively counters both jutsu, even though a certain C4 won't work on him regardless, but I figured I'd offer a second perspective, just to show that Kakuzu ain't a one trick pony.
C3 and C4 share the same form of activation, and that's remote detonation. [
You must be registered for see links
]--> [
You must be registered for see links
].
Let's start with the big one, C4 Garuda. I will explain the vulnerabilities Deidara has while prepping this jutsu, and how Kakuzu counters it. To start off, C4 Garuda takes a bit of time to prep. Let's look at it panel by panel:
You must be registered for see images
You must be registered for see images
You must be registered for see images
You must be registered for see images
So, since this fight is in character, when faced with a large scale ninjutsu that poses an extreme threat, Kakuzu's instinct is to
You must be registered for see links
. He can either wallop Deidara with a combined Ninjutsu onslaught, since Deidara is standing still and is defenseless when he uses the jutsu, or he could do the same thing to Garuda, for the same reasoning.
C3 is a bit of the same old story as above. Let's look at it's activation time:
You must be registered for see images
You must be registered for see images
You must be registered for see images
You must be registered for see images
You must be registered for see images
So why does it take so long to activate it? Theoretically, since it's remotely activated, it could be detonated at any time, yes? It's a similar concept as the concept Deidara uses with C4 Garuda, which is staying
You must be registered for see links
. The same thing here, because C3's radius is
You must be registered for see links
. Potential shockwaves could kill Deidara or knock him out of the air, that's a risk not worth taking.
Redundant counter, I know, but Deidara simply can't use his larger explosives against Kakuzu. They either get knocked right back at him with Atsugai, or deactivated by Gian. As said, many, many times, Gian can fire more than one bolt at once, so Deidara could get attacked directly while his bomb's getting deactivated. So as you see, you need to come up with a strategy to defeat Kakuzu's hearts before bringing out the big jutsu, and by countering Kakuzu's hearts, I mean the Fire, Wind, and Lightning Hearts; because all 3 are capable of either deflecting or deactivating these techniques individually, just think how impossible it would be with all 3 hearts up.
Counter; Land Mines: Why They Won't Work and How Kakuzu Counters ThemDeidara's Land Mines are created through the

You must be registered for see links

You must be registered for see links

You must be registered for see images
So Deidara using it with just a Clay Clone is unlikely, but regardless, Gian counters both the Explosive Deidara sends at Kakuzu and the clone planting the land Mines, or even the land mines themselves. Also, you said Deidara could block Kakuzu's line of sight with
You must be registered for see links
, but that won't work because as soon as Deidara starts using land mines, this'll leave the perfect opportunity for Kakuzu to counter with Zukkoku in conjunction with Atsugai:
You must be registered for see images
Let's compare the blast radius of Deidara's sight-blocker to Kakuzu's attack:
You must be registered for see images
You must be registered for see images
Not much of a match, really.
After that, Deidara's view will be restricted by the jutsu, so the lightning heart can then jump [
You must be registered for see links
]-->[
You must be registered for see links
] and follow up with multiple Gian's on the C2 Dragon, which won't be able to dodge because it would be busy getting out of the radius of the Zukkoku/Atsugai combination attack. Meanwhile, Kakuzu can
You must be registered for see links
and effectively sandwich Deidara.
Also, since this goes hand in hand with my "Bringing Down the C2 Dragon," argument, so I will leave it at that. I've said all I've needed to say on the matter.
Counter; Clay Clones: How Kakuzu Stops ThemFirst of all, C4 Garuda being used on Kakuzu will be ineffective due to Kakuzu's offensive counters and the fact that it wouldn't work on him anyway, so wether a clone used that Garuda or not, (which I highly doubt, but I can't dispute it, I'll leave it at that) it wouldn't work on Kakuzu. Now, I will counter Deidara's clay Clones, starting with the
You must be registered for see links
.
Assuming Deidara creates a clone, has it eat the clay, and sends it at Kakuzu; which is really the only practical use of it, the obvious counter will be Gian, but a separate counter is hiding like a mole, which, I might add, is the same way Deidara escaped it:
You must be registered for see images
The hearts can jump extremely long distances in a matter of seconds, so they'd be fine. If you're still under the impression that Kakuzu cannot fully submerge himself into the Earth, he can simply
You must be registered for see links
, and then it can
You must be registered for see links
with Kakuzu's body.
The C4 clone
You must be registered for see links
in close range by attaching to them. Kakuzu, being a mid-long range fighter, wouldn't be caught in a position such as this, but if he were, he'd simply detach from the body parts caught in the absorption. Obviously, the body parts individually do not breathe, so they would be unaffected by C4, and Kakuzu can then bring them back to his body afterwards.

"They corner their opponent from the air and the ground." Obviously, Obito won't be present to plant land mines, which is his duty:

B.) Deidara doesn't hide his hand seals:

To put it simply, Kakuzu uses Atsugia/Zukkoku head-front on the C2 Dragon (Which has a much larger scale than Shuriken, I might add), and follows in kind with

Which, I might add, has a longer range than Sasuke's

, and it's more than capable of replicating the effect since it's equal to Raikiri:

(Equal jutsu of the same element cancel each other out)
And it'll do even more because it will increase it's number of lightning attacks.

Due to the strength in speed, Kakuzu will have to adjust into his

Furthermore, these tendrils all work separately, so they can splinter off in separate directions while staggering their strike time so as to keep Deidara on the move. Kakuzu's Tendrilsa fast

After this, Kakuzu will attack with

This leaves the possibility of Deidara being a

And given the fact that Chakra tubes lie all across the body, as Hyuga's have demonstrated, it's safe to say all their chakra resides in their hearts. Simply, "Chakra ext rated from chakra tubes---> Chakra tubes are all across the body." Kakuzu possess five chakra's, not just one.
So considering Kakuzu was capable of going toe-to-toe with 4 people, and was only killed after reinforcements arrived, it's safe to say he can outlast Deidara. Reason being, Deidara himself ran out of Chakra

, and Kakuzu has counters to all of the jutsu Deidara used in that battle.

-Jiongu is composed of 3 hearts, therefore 2 remain on the outside defending. C1 and C2
How does this help Kakuzu against Deidara? Well,

countered Deidara's C2 Mines. Since, as shown above, Kakuzu can jump very high and very far, he could counter the very same way.
Since his tendrils can all

, Kakuzu can attack them with his tendrils like he does against

, and intercept Deidara's C2, and then follow with Gian to deactivate the missile. If another missile follows, Gian can splinter off into a second bolt:

And effectively deactivate that missile as well. Furthermore, the concept of intercepting with his tendrils leaves his Wind and Fire Hearts unoccupied, therefore leaving openings for them too, to defend with their ninjutsu.
Deidara's

, would also be countered through Kakuzu's Short Range ninjutsu.

]--> [

So, since this fight is in character, when faced with a large scale ninjutsu that poses an extreme threat, Kakuzu's instinct is to
You must be registered for see links
. He can either wallop Deidara with a combined Ninjutsu onslaught, since Deidara is standing still and is defenseless when he uses the jutsu, or he could do the same thing to Garuda, for the same reasoning.
C3 is a bit of the same old story as above. Let's look at it's activation time:

You must be registered for see images
You must be registered for see images

You must be registered for see links
. This can easily be attributed to Kamui, because Deidara wasn't surprised at all when Obito survived
You must be registered for see links
, so surely Deidara would view Obito as the perfect way to plant mines. Also, as stated by the Databook it is Obito's job to plant the land mines

Let's compare the blast radius of Deidara's sight-blocker to Kakuzu's attack:

Not much of a match, really.
After that, Deidara's view will be restricted by the jutsu, so the lightning heart can then jump [
You must be registered for see links
]-->[
You must be registered for see links
] and follow up with multiple Gian's on the C2 Dragon, which won't be able to dodge because it would be busy getting out of the radius of the Zukkoku/Atsugai combination attack. Meanwhile, Kakuzu can

and effectively sandwich Deidara.

The hearts can jump extremely long distances in a matter of seconds, so they'd be fine. If you're still under the impression that Kakuzu cannot fully submerge himself into the Earth, he can simply

, and then it can
You must be registered for see links
with Kakuzu's body.
The C4 clone

in close range by attaching to them.
Atleast drag out your C3 argument so a proper debate can be made. I thought you were advertising a new book about Kakuzu when i opened that spoiler tag.

-With knowledge on deidaras clay bombs,, kakuzu would know the raiton weakness of deidaras bombs and through his raiton abilities he would be safe from most of deidaras attacks,,added with his doton:domu,, he has durabiliy higgher than Hebi Sasuke,,, who survived most of deidaras attacks,,,
-With all 5 masks,, and kakuzu being able to use large scale Katon+Futon combos,,, he has the AOE to damage Deidara regardless of whether he is in flight or not,,,,and through his long range mode,, can close the distance and attack him quite effectively,,
-Kakuzu surives C4 in quite a similar way as to how hebi sasuke surived it,,, on top of that the starting distance of 15m allows kakuzu to attack him effectively right at the start of the battle,,,, moreover Deidara would struggle to get rid of kakuzu 5 times,,, and with his puppets using large scale elemental attacks,, I would give kakuzu the edge here,,,,,
-Only shot of deiidara winning this is if he uses C0 but since that is a suicidal jutsu,, it would still just count as a draw
