It was two on one. Sasuke didn't wanna kill Deidara he wanted info on Itachi, but Obito helped place Deidara mines underground.

sasuke survive by Plot pure an simple and there is no debating that he was out of chakra he said it himself but some how he managed to pull manda out of his ass at the perfect time :|.

PNJ doesn't exist, people should accept the story as it is. Sasuke had enough chakra to summon Manda because that's what happend. End of story U_U

sasuke was superior and had elemental advantage yet deidara pushed him to his limit until he was out of chakra and the only reason he survived was a manda asspull you can continue to life he denial land but its pretty obvious to anyone with a brain that manda was a plot device to guarantee sasuke's survival.

It's crystal clear that Kishi wanted to introduce that jutsu against Itachi not Deidara in order to keep it in secret.
