Someone like Itachi has no answer to C4, he's my favourite out of the Akatsuki but it's a fact

In my oppinion he's definitely overrated. His stupid ass explosions kekkei genkai isn't all that. It's like explosive tags 2x's wrapped around clay. . .-tsk- just not that interesting after seeing it the first 50 million times. But his C4 jutsu is a formidable one.

Please, tell me what Deidara is capable of beyond exploding clay that takes quite a bit to prepare.

Well one thing to be considered is that Kishimoto has shown Deidara to be very resourceful. His final blow against Gaara was more of a tactical move on his part than by sheer overpowering. Plus the guy got away from Naruto+Team Guy w/o his arms.

No I don't. Deidara was described as a young man with huge potential. For that reason he was recruited by 3 Akatsuki members, and he became partner with Sasori, a man with even more potential, and probably the one with the largest talent in the Narutoverse.
Also Deidara was at an advantage against Gaara. If you fight Gaara on the ground in a desert, you are gonna lose, but if you can fly, it's a different story. Deidara won fair and square. Actually you should be amazed that Gaara controlled Shukaku so well that he didn't let him go on a rampage, when he lost. Gaara didn't even use Shukaku's chakra. So that argument is invalid.

he is a good character with good voice and fighting style but i think he took more screen time compare to poor Sasori and Kakuzu

He can deploy microscopic bombs that kill you unless you have sharing an to see them and ration to disable them.

Deidara is UNDERRATED, his nano bombs is almost a guaranteed ko to anyone without dojutsu, or is a potent sensor, secondly he trained himself to see through genjutsu, this is something that ppl seem to be blind to the value of. He saw through a regular genjutsu, which is far more faster than breaking it the normal way, which is done by disrupting chakra.
Furthermore his taijutsu isn't too shabby, nothing to write home about, but he did fend off kakashi and gais teams with NO arms. Last but not least, he managed to use a few jutsus without even having arms, like when he substituted a clay clone when naruto was beating him, and again when he used a suicide clone, that nearly killed everyone were it not for kamui. all in all I'd say he's fairly underrated, he has enough power to bomb entire villages and plenty of variety with his clay creations, his versatility and power is off the charts

deidara isnt overrated, he's underrated actually
every fight he had, he was at a disadvantage
-kakashi took his arm because he was trying to fight naruto 1v1
-itachi is a genjutsu specialist which is deidara's weakness
-sasuke was saved by pnj, that fight was a draw IMO (and sasuke had sharingan/genjutsu too)
the only fight deidara had that was fair was against gaara and he won
