US and Cuba in talks to bring cop-killer back to America

US and Cuban officials are reportedly discussing an exchange that could bring New Jersey cop killer Joanne Chesimard back to American soil.

The talks between the two countries, which have normalized diplomatic relations, could also send notorious Cuban spy Ana Montes back to the Caribbean nation, according to NBC.

“Cuba has been a haven for US fugitives,” a federal law-enforcement official told NBC.

Chesimard, a former Black Panther and an aunt of hip hop legend Tupac Shakur, escaped prison in 1979 after she was convicted of killing a New Jersey state trooper. She has been hiding out in Havana since the mid-1980s.

Chesimard, also known as Assata Shakur, is the only woman on the FBI’s list of most-wanted terrorists.

Montes had been a senior analyst for Cuban affairs with the Defense Intelligence Agency.

On Sept. 21, 2001, Montes was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit espionage for Cuba.

She was sentenced to 25 years in prison and is scheduled to be sprung in 2023.

Now if I remember correctly, she was apart of BLAH and they was robbing banks and was pulled over by cops and killed one to escape. Criminal? Yes. Terrorist? No. When an entire community has reason to fear you, you are a terrorist. When Trayvon, a child, was murdered by a white man for no good reason, this said man was awarded his freedom and today is earning money by selling memorabilia of the act(the gun which killed the poor kid) and calling it a piece of "American history".


This lady killed a man, yes, but it was in a time where situations like Trayvon was accruing allot and there was no social media coverage and outrage, no one really cared, this was normal in the black community. Law Enforcement and "Big Brother" had no on to answer to. These people and their culture has been terrorized since the genesis of their arrival here in America.


This Women killed a man, he is dead, and that is sad. But the fact that she has been on the MOST wanted list all this time, even though she poses no threat to the united states, somehow she is considered a terrorist.

When I think of terrorist, I think of people actively plotting suicide bombings or assassinations of government officials. You dont have to agree, but you have to acknowledge this Governments Bias. Dylann Roof terrorized an entire community and what he did will hang over that community for lifetimes, and yet he was simply called a "shooter" in most media headlines and coverage. He killed 9 people. Church going, GOD fearing people.

Assata shouldn't be considered a terrorist in my opinion. Her whole conviction itself for "shooting a state trooper" was directly countered by an amidst of evidence suggesting that the position in which she was when shot proved that she was defenseless but in the shootout a officer died.

To top it off (1) she was convicted by an all white jury (2) her finger prints weren't found on any if the weapons that were used (3) her hands had no trace of gun powder residue.
