Defending Rap/Hiphop

First off I want to say that I'm a fan of all music except for mexican "corridos" and Juggalo rap. That being said I want to shine some light on a few statements made by some NB members. When Asking for feedback on my newest songs (thank you to the people who actually give an opinion) instead I get, "Rap is overrated" "Rap sucks" "Rock is the best" "rapping is easy, so it sucks". Did you know that in 2012 Country was the number 1 Genre? Followed by;

2. Classic Rock
3.Pop
4. 80s-90s hits
5.alt. rock
6. Oldies
7. Rap/hiphop
8. R&B
9. Soft Rock
10. Metal

Oh Wait, Rap/hiphop isn't even in the top 5 ! Hows hip-hop overrated? As far as it being overrated on NB- If you don't like the fact that the music section is filled with hip-hop, then do something about it and share your favorite jams! I would love to hear them! Just Don't sit there and blame us hiphop heads for having the love and passion for hiphop to show it off publicly !

Also stop saying that rapping is easy to do. All genres of music are hard in their own respects. Rapping doesn't come as natural. It takes years of practice and skill to rhyme perfectly on spot. Before bashing this genre take a second and think about what the f*ck your about to say LOL

There wasn't any famous country musicians in 2012, so I think that list is bogus. Unless, Everyone liked Taylor Swift (if you can call that country) so much that everyone neglected every other genre and her alone made it number 1.

Also, I don't make fun of rap/hip hop. I just don't like it. I don't listen to it at all, and refuse to, but I don't make fun of it either. I'm just not associated with that type of music. It doesn't appeal to me.

I'm talking about true hip-hop and rap, not that lil Wayne and future BS.

Fair enough.

I still prefer to be enveloped in eargasm-inducing rock ballads. The depth of an orchestra. The crisp simplicity of a piano.

I suppose our tastes differ

naa man, rap is poetry with a beat, and any song by cash is good, but thats my opinion
