Okay, so I know this suggestion has been mentioned many times in the past, but unfortunately no one has even been able to properly decline this suggestion, or even give us a reasonable explanation as to why this proposal wouldn't be a good idea.

When it comes to this suggestion, the only silly arguments that I keep hearing are "it would be irritating to look at" or "looking at different people with different fonts is annoying" or "default fonts are just fine" or "there needs to be a special purpose for using different fonts" or "it is distracting" or "having fonts that are not with the regular default is foolish" and so on and so on, while there are some who are just saying that it would be a horrible idea without even giving a good reason as to why. Times New Roman or Book Antiqua are not special fonts. They are normal fonts that only seem special to you because they are not the default font on this forum and you are not used to using it. Hint, hint.

If you want to bring in the argument that it doesn't take long to highlight a text and copy/paste the BB code then I can easily say that THAT is irritating and annoying. No one wants to keep having to change their font every time they post something. Why not just have it placed as a default so it can already be there are all you have to do is post. I have seen many websites where this feature is set and it is very useful.

As you may know, many people like this idea and think it will be a good perk for people who don't feel like changing their font type every single time and writing out the BB code, including me who feels like constantly changing your font every time you post can be ridiculous.

We already have a default font that everyone uses and it is a common thing for everyone to be used to it, so some people may think that different default fonts are not needed and unnecessary, but those who like to change their font obviously do not.

My opinion on this matter should already be clear. This should not be asking for too much and I don't think that it should be a big deal to include this. Enforcing this new feature will only be a problem for those who are not used to people using something other than the regular default font.

If we can have the time to create new emotes then we should also have the time to create this added feature. Just a new plug-in with a few more lovable fonts is all I am asking.

Being a little creative with our posts and lightening up this forum should not be a drawback.

I like your idea, although it may not seem like much to BBcode every time you post, I can definitely imagine it being bothersome over time. I participate in the roleplay, so I write a lot and stuff, and it would be cool if I could decorate my "stories" with font without having to bbcode it every single time. Since I already have to BBcode for the color of my character's dialogue, every single detail adds up. (When including the Font BBcode) and so, I pretty much choose to not use that option. This of course is me being lazy, and if I really wanted to, I could code every single post. But, if we had the option to set a default for ourselves, like any other thing (Like our forum time zone and all of that) it would be pretty neat.

It'll be nice if it gets approved. It's tedious to change it every time you make a post, but for phone users it's way worse than that, at least on my phone.

When I reply to a thread, I always use quick reply. It's faster and more convenient. Just some food for thought.

If you want to post with a different font, you can. For us to make a setting that you can save your font setting is just a bunch of extra work for nothing really, while at the same time we don't really want to promote use of different fonts as that makes the site less appealing to most. So with this said, just keep using the bbcode, the work that would have to be done to make it work exceeds the work the individual will have to put in to change his post font.

You say there are only silly arguments against it, but in the end you provide no real arguments in favor either other than saying it's annoying to simply click on a single button.

There are many fonts that can be used. You talk about Times New Roman and Book Antique, but what about the others? What about the members who want to use Century Gothic or Comic Sans MS? It's definitely going to be annoying if someone starts using for instance Impact to write all his posts and we can't really start subjectively selecting fonts that can and can't be used. And from there it's also only a small step to default bolding, italicize, color, size etc. as there are also people who do not use another font, but do italicize their posts.

And in the end for what? To make your posts special? For some reason you used Size 3 to write your opening post? Why? That annoys hell out of me as it gives half and half the impression you try to scream and I find that distracting. If you want to be coding your every post, fine, but if we are going to allow default codings, we need to be consistent about it and before you know it people are competing with each other using 10 different fonts in 20 different color in 7 different sizes. Yeah no. If you want to code your posts, be our guest, but there really is no reason for us to start make things easier for something that's in the end nothing more than vanity. And hint many mods are some of the people on NB who are the most experienced and proficient in coding posts. So we know what we are talking about as this is not something with precedents.
