decline of senju clan

i was wondering when senjus are believed to have the life force of so6p than how come only tsunade is the only one alive . while there was an entire uchiha clan before itachi wiped tham out what could have brought about the decline of senju clan as we know at the time of formation of konoha by hashi there were a no of senjus even more than the uchihas so what could be the reason behind the decline of senju clan
