You've clearly been sheltered from the real world. If someone is coming at you in a threatening manner with a gun, you are allowed to defend yourself. He was targeted and attacked for no reason...
you have been protected from the truth, becuase apperently if im walking behind you and you decide im a threat you think you can shoot me......no thats not how it works they actually have to do something first, which in this case he wasnt

My input:

R.I.P for the dead guy. It's sad.

As for who's right, who's wrong, who cares? We weren't there and we, like the media, will never know the full truth. It happens every day, sadly. This will blow over just like Kony. Both are tragic things that I hate, but in a week nobody will care. Bottom line, it's sad.

I hope that in time these things go away and maybe giving this attention will aid to it, I don't know.

Anyways, Please don't hate me for my comment.

Zim came about it the wrong way, Number 1 if someone looks like a trouble maker or a problem you don't go following them that's like following a wild grizzle bear or wild animal cause we all know how that's gonna end up.

2. Knowing you have a gun on you , when you go in for your gun license they tell you in the class you have to take, always avoid confrontation rule number 1.

3. He was probably frustrated about his neighborhood getting robbed the best thing he could of done is play it off more cool like hey bro you got the time start a conversation and wait until the cops came.

both phone calls

What are you talking about?

Martin was unarmed. He was walking home on the phone, and zimmerman came at him. He didn't just follow him, he walked up to him, and threatened him. Trayvon had every right to defend himself if he did fight back. But that's not the point. The point is Zimmerman still had no right to follow him and shoot him. He called the cops, and he should have left it up to them, and not taken matters into his own hands..

Zimmerman should be locked away forever... He didn't have to approach martin, he could have minded his own business, because of his sick, distorted perception african americans and teenagers martin lost his life. People like Zimmerman don't help society in any way and should be locked up.

are you dumb or mentally ill, what do you mean wait till the facts come out, te facts are out they measured him on the otopsy and know the mans hieght
-they have several recordings of they white guy screaming HELP HELP HELP and then a gunshot being herd

-they know that the guy called in saying im going to go follow this black kid cuz hes black :( and he said he had a gun and the police said DO NOT FOLLOW him

-im not stating ipion in this thread this is PURE FACT prove me wrong or get the hell out
Woot Woot! =DD +rep for this :)
Well I think that if it was truly self-defense, the guy should not do too much time in prison. The kid was practically an adult and should have known better.
Violence is never the answer :scorps:

First of all why was zimmerman following him?

Martin had a legal right to attack Zimmerman simply because he felt threatened under Florida's stand your ground law Martin took a legal course of action.

If a 240 lb guy was following you, you would feel threatened too.

The aggressor used lethal force while being told to wait for the police.

There is no debating this the guy is guilty NEXT!

that man should be in jail for life and all money in his name should go to trayvon's family... who kills someone because they look suspicious for walking down the street with a black hoodie, some candy, and a juice and don't get sent to jail for it? let it have been the other way around and it would have been jail for life, all money in his name gone, and anything else that would strip a black man of his life. I really hate this world today because all people wanna do is kill and distroy

I personally do not believe that the guy should be put in prison. My reason for that is the law said something like, any one who feels that they are being threatened has the right to use lethal force. Legally law has to be interpreted by the letter and if the man felt he was in danger then he had the right to shoot Tryvon (not saying it is right.) I do believe that the law should be changed or at the very least tweaked. Has hard as it is for people to do they should let the guy off and let him go on with his life, put all of this behind them, and concentrate on changing the law so it dose not happen again (i realize it's easier said then done.)

oh sure let the man who killed a child for walking out of the store with candy, and juice go free so he can go kill another kid for the same reason. if anyone felt as though they should defend themself it should have been trayvon becasue the man was stalking him waiting for the right moment to kill him. he was on his phone with his girlfriend and might have said something like "if this man keep following me imma puch him in the face" and the man took that chance to kill him

You hate the world today? Try living form Sept 1939 to May 1945, or July 1914 to Nov 1918, or 400 years ago. I wont get into the first two because i don't have enough time, but 400 years ago people were killing each other left, right, and center. And it was not only white people who were killing each other but black people to. You have nothing to F**king complain about.

I am simply saying that the law LEGALLY has to be interpreted by the letter. It dose not matter if Tryvon was not a threat, if threat man felt that he was in danger according to that state's law he had the right to shoot Tryvon. I am not saying it was right because it wasn't but law is law.

The law doesn't apply when you are the aggressor. How could Zimmerman not be the aggressor? For the fact that he followed Trayvon and got in range for Trayvon to fight him means that he purposefully put himself in a position where not only was he was the person provoking him to fight he put Trayvon in a position where he felt he had to protect himself. Trayvon got the upper hand and Zimmerman used lethal force to kill him. This is aggravated assault, murder, and a hate crime(I don't think its a hate crime but if I was a lawyer I would charge him with it). The law is not on Zimmerman's side. Self defence only apply's when you are not the aggressor in this case which Zimmerman was.
