If you are interested in Iraqi war so much; i reccommend movie "Redacted". Not too long, pretty good. I watched it like when i was 13 so i am pretty sure it can get through a human skull.

Character study film my arse. They did not even portray the character as who is, a murderer who did not give a **** about Iraqis and enjoyed killing, his words. Better write a fictional character if you wanna paint someone so much. Look at his death, killed by another former marine in a place meant for practicing shooting.
