He said, your favorite anime. For you to name, Snk (which only have 6 eps) as your favorite implies that you haven't seen much anime. But I don't really care, because it's you opinion. And you're entitled to it.

As for my favorite/s, it would have to be Steins; Gate, Welcome to the NHK or Bakemonogatari.

6 episodes is enough to claim this a good show. Plus with already caught up with the manga already knowing what is going to happen is good enough for me also. ^

I would probably agree if it ended after ep 25. After L died the series wasn't as good.

I think it got a little slow after L died. But Near impressed me, and I liked what happened with Mello. And the end made the awkward lull after L's death seem worthwhile. But that's just my opinion.

Death Note barely makes my top 5 list. After watching it three times, you start to see a few plot holes that just makes the series not as good as it was the 1st time watching. The first half is pretty solid, but the 2nd half you start to see things added into the story to make the ending happen. Although it is a good anime, it is not the best.

I kind of see what you're saying here. The plot wasn't fool proof but it was, without a doubt, well thought out.

If I were to take the first 25 episodes of Death Note and make a conclusion, I think I may agree that Death Note is the best anime. The anime was perfect up to that point: Right tone, perfect plot, outstanding drama, mind-boggling face-offs, excellent characters, cerebral action, full of adrenaline and list goes on and on... But as much as I love Death Note, gotta admit that there was a decline in the second part and it limped a bit till its finale. It remained a very good second part but definitely not on par with first 25 episodes.

That being said, Death Note was my No.1 for a long long time until Steins;Gate came. And if we were to remain in nearly similar genres comparisons, then Code Geass is very close to Death Note. Some will prefer DN, some will prefer Code: Geass - a matter of choice. Also, I'd like to mention Psycho-Pass - which is still pretty new but as time flies, it will soon be a cult one! There are similarities with Death Note; though also very different but given that it contain, imo the best villain in anime history - it's pretty high in my books.

So, yeah, I don't think Death Note is better than all animes...Let alone high difference or not! To be noticed, I didn't really compare it with other genres animes where there are lots of great animes in their own medium. Yes, it's great and surely ranks among the best nonetheless!

One Piece. FMA. ToG. In regards to Anime, Code Geass. All of these are better than DN. Not to mention Liar Game. DN destroyed itself when it kept going once L was dead. It's overrated, it made a fatal mistake which can't be overlooked, it made on Anti-Villian the main antagonist, got rid of him, and tried to replace him. It doesn't work like that, even the people who created DN know they made a mistake since it's highlighted in their next work; Bakuman.

So far... my top 3 are Liar Game, Monster, and 20th Century Boys (gonna have to reread this one).
If you liked Death Note you might like Liar Game (manga only) even though they're pretty different series, Code Geass (anime only), and maybe a few others like Kenji or even Gamble Fish. It depends what exactly you liked out of the series really, I've seen people recommend Monster if people like Death Note but the correlation might be a bit different.
