avenge them

Well one died because of Asthma. I really can't do much about that.

As for the other one, she was killed by a serial killer. All I know is he's a light skinned black guy.

I had a friend who was the same age as me pass about a year ago today. I think about all the things he'll never experience and it makes me want to work harder and live more responsibly.

Well I was very young when any of my family members died so I can't say that have any feelings of remorse or sorrow. However I can tell you about an actual close experience with death that I had.

Well when two years ago I had my first near death experience. First it started with me cutting my finger but it was a deep cut zip mean blood was everywhere and I couldn't move it without squirting a line of blood. Well that was the might beforehand. So the next morning I'm woken up by my cousins bringing beer and pot. Usually I just smoked pot and not much beer but with them I felt the need to drink beer. I wasn't a fast drinker so my beer got hot and fast. Still tho I was drinking just to show I was. Drinking and smoking during the whole morning was how it went down. Like around 1 I clock we were sitting outside below my trees shade and suddenly I start hearing this static noise. I mean the sound was like static from a television then it tuned to one single peep. My vision started darkening no first kinda purplish then dark. My head started feeling really hot so I went to wash it outside in the water hose. When I was going back to sit down I had forgotten that I couldn't see and I just fell face down on the floor. My brother and cousins run towards me and get me up. Started shaking me and stuff. Finally I pinpointed my brother and grabbed him told him to get me milk. So he did and when he brought it I chugged like half the gallon. They said after that I started getting my color back. My vision started coming back slowly kinda reminded from black to purple to extremely bright and finally the sun. My cousins told me that I had gone completely white and that my eyes rolled back behind my socket. It was the most extreme moment for me.

I've had a few close ones that died... All 4 grandparents, 2 close friends from highschool, 1 from college, however, I think the one that had the biggest impact on my life was my dog, Spike.

Thing about Spike, he was supposed to be a guard dog, a pet to protect our home, yet still a part of our family. Well, he wasn't exactly the guard type, his friend, Suki, was. Spike instead spent pretty much every day with her when I wasn't home, then every moment he can with me. I would take him places, he would go running with me, he'd even join in on my Track team and run upwards to 10 miles alongside my team and myself. Everyone loved Spike so much...

Then the worst came, he was only 6 years old when it happened. Suki, who was 15 years old, nearly 16, began to show signs of old age. She had trouble walking, hair falling out, later had trouble even standing so I would go to her to feed her and help her up. After about 7 months of this, she was unable to stand up anymore, we couldn't see her suffer like this. We took her around the side of our house, where Spike followed us, till we got to the gate and stopped him. We took Suki to the vet for any possible last efforts, but nothing, so we had to put her to sleep.

Times where we had to even take her for a bath, Spike would cry, waiting for her to return, but this was like no other. He slept by the gate all night, waiting for her. I brought him in, but he would just want to stay outside and sleep under the shaded tree in the same spot Suki always relaxed in. He began to stop eating, stop running with me, stopped wagging his tail... :'( I took him to the vet for depression issues, but nothing helped. Then, 1 day, he started eating again. I was so happy. After a week of his improvement, I bought him a whole slab of beef, get all his strength back. Then it happened...

I awoke at 4 AM cause of a fear, something scared me. Spike, like usual at night, was asleep at the foot of my bed, but something seemed very wrong. I turned on the lights, stroked his face, whispered to him, but he wasn't responding... I checked everything for a sign of life. Spike passed away. I ran outside, searched the backyard, ran around to the gate and found it. In a hole being covered was all the food I thought he was eating. I cried for hours holding Spike. Track members and my best friends came at 7 AM to help me take him.

What hit me even harder was my school. They held a funeral for spike, over 60 track students, my best friends and everyone closest to me. He had so many who cared for him, but he couldn't live without a single one of his friends, Suki...

Sorry if it was bad writing, I was crying on last 2 paragraphs. It's been 2 years, but I still miss my best friend.

Never truly lost anyone close to me.. Maybe because it's limited who is [close to me] but besides the point. Just stay in there dude, it will all happen to us and death is horrible. But keep your head up and you will eventually just accept it. It sucks, death but we can't do much.. Just stay in there. It will all be alright =) You've got NB if you really need help

That's all true and nice, but you really think NB can help ? Talking sometimes doesn't help. (And I'm not talking about myself, I just know that it's not that easy for some people).

Maybe not all of NB, but some of us can and are right now. Talking, sleeping, and time help a lot of things.

People have to change their perception of how they see death. It's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just everyone has been shaped to see death as a grim thing. Even religious people dress in black and are all somber when they do to funerals which is contradicting to beliefs.

I've lost many loved ones and I learned that it's better to have gotten to known a person that died who was close to you. A lot of people didn't get that chance but you got to know them as a person and be around them and learn and experience parts of life with them. It's okay to miss them and but I find it extremely selfish when people wish that they were still here. It's all for your own sake, anyways that's how I see it.
