(I'm black myself)
I woke up to some very disturbing news. One of the first things I like to do when I wake up is going to Yahoo! for my newsfeed. I clicked on an article about a white guy punching an elderly black guy for sake of this so-called "Knockout Game".
I was pissed at first, but when I scrolled down to the comment section and read what people had to say, I saw that many people claimed that ignorant piece of garbage black youth the ones who created the game.
The attackers said something like, "Let's see if they televise this." As in let's see if white-on-black crime will get the same media attention as black-on-white, especially when they're committing the SAME EXACT crime. Yeah, the guy is a POS, but he has a point. That is a double standard by all means. Makes the BLM movement seem so very hypocritical.
I was in denial, but out of curiously, I searched "Knockout Game" on YouTube and was greatly disturbed by what I saw.
Black scum running up on unsuspecting white men, women, both young and old, and punching them with enough force to knock them out. Even a Navy veteran has been a victim of this despicable game.
As a black person myself, I am very disheartened by this Knockout Game. I'm poor and the only thing I have going for me is my talent of writing, which I don't even have the time or money to pursue making profits from it. I'm not sh*t and never will be. The best I can do to change the non-blacks' opinions of us is to be who I naturally am--kind, respectful, and civil.
If you're black and have the means and power to become a somebody, then I bet of you to please do all you can to make us look good when at in public. No being obnoxious, no playing loud rap music in your car, no catcalling, speak properly and keep the slang to a minimum, etc. No crimes obviously. No excessive hanging out in public places like restaurants, department stores, and malls like bums.
I know it's messed up that other groups of people don't have to be so conscious of making others look bad, but we gotta deal with it. We black people individually represent all others, which is unfortunate. That Knockout Game has made many non-blacks hate all of us just because of a few of them have participated in it.
If you're naturally obnoxious and uncivil, then please sacrifice those traits just when out in public. I know you can say that's being fake, but don't you care about how your actions make people see the rest of us?
I have no power, means, or resources to do a damn thing about the bogus situations going on in our society. If you do, then please do all you can to make a difference.
