Deadpool’s Rating Probably Won’t Please Very Many Fans.

As excited as we were last week about the news that the Deadpool movie had finally gotten a release date, we sadly didn't realize the potential drawbacks of the project actually moving forward. Basically, fans may have just made a deal with the devil: Sure, a Deadpool movie is now in active development at 20th Century Fox, but that may be because the studio is planning to make it and release it with a PG-13 rating in mind instead of the R-rating that we all really want.

This new rumor comes to us from the Schmoes Knows podcast, which claims to have some inside information regarding the development of Deadpool and we can expect from it ratings-wise. One of the hosts says that he recently had the opportunity to speak with director Tim Miller and confirmed that the movie is moving forward with a PG-13 rating. Said the podcaster,
"I heard from the director that they finally figured out the script…and you guys are all going to hate this: they figured out how to make it PG-13 and therefore not lose its soul - that’s a quote - of the script, so that they can make it."

I guess they're hoping to cash in on the teenage demographic but that won't work with a Deadpool movie.

Deadpool is mostly known for fourth wall breaking, if they do that right I don't think lack of bloody violence would be a problem

This movie will undoubtedly fail as Deadpool would require an 18 rating or a min of 15, but even then.

They are trying to make Deadpool similar to Ultimate Spider Man of Disney Xd, where he will break the 4th wall crack a few jokes but with minimal violence and restricted language an antics of Deadpool.

I can't understand this decision as Deadpool without his bat-s**** crazy avatar, violence and antics won't be funny, even deadpool game was rated M, I hope they make a R rated movie and scrap the PG-13 idea.

I remember reading somewhere that having Deadpool knowing he is in a PG-13 and struggling with that could work . It all depends if the movie actually haves him snap before the movie ends , at least for a little while .

That idea would not be bad Imo .

I think this is NOT a big deal. Have you seen the recent movies? Some pretty hard core stuff has been done in these PG-13 movies.

Deadpool's rating isn't a big deal at all. It'll still be extremely awesome.
