Chances are, the person perpetrating the "attack" is watching the site to see the "mayhem" he or she is creating. They'll probably be dissapointed because V is handling it like a boss. I'm guessing someone has beef with NB because they were "unjustly banned". Dargonlord being a name that comes to mind. These narcissists will lash out if they dont get thier way. Like with the grinch who stole christmas, if these guys cant have NB then no one can, and hope that by taking it away from us that we will be thrown into chaos. However, they'll see that like the people of whoville, we will continue to function normally and they will not receive the satisfaction of watching NB collapse.

Basically someone is trying to overload the site with a bunch of bots trying to crash the site... Probably some pissed off ex-member.

actually if V could find out who is attacking he could inform the police as DDOS is a crime.
But its very hard to find the attacker cause of the use of many computers that he hides behind
