After watching dbz are there any canon movies I need to watch before dragon ball super

battle of the gods is cannonish, but they are working the first half of the movie into the first 4 episodes so far, so the battle of the gods might just confuse you, there introducing berus to goku now like they did in te movie

the series picks up right after buu saga, and it starts with goku working towards a meeting with beerus so theres really no movies working up to it, and i dont see how the return of freeza one fits in yet since the series starts with goku not knowing beerus

nah if you have common knowledge of the characters ie beerus whis you good. just watch up until buu dies

Nah, DBS is covering both movies, to my understanding.
