i think this is more mainly due to the fact people like goku being the hero instead of gohan..

also gohan doesnt train as much as goku and even though gohan is powerful his battle instincts become dull and he cant utilise his power as effectively.. where as goku who trains 24/7 practically can make full use of his power

The thing that doesn't make sense to me with all of you sayit Gohan was the strongest character is if he was then why didn't they bring him to fight Kid Buu?

Also yall are remembering his evolution to Kid Buu wrong. Vegeta stated that he was getting smaller and assumed weaker but then immediately said that he was actually getting stronger
