Fake in this situation doesn't mean that it doesn't exist, it means that it's not genuine. That's what most people think of when they say it's not real... meaning it's not genuine, not that is doesn't exist. Most people consider what is genuine or real to be the manga by Akira Toriyama, so anything else to them is fake.

So yes, AF is fake since it's trying to copy the real DBZ without being made by the actual creators.
