Even. if they were both healed and ready they'd be evenly matched, the only reason why Gohan needed help from Goku was because he had to fight Cell already.

Gohan had the edge, his damage protecting Vegeta is why he seemed slightly weaker than Cell.

With that said, not sure how the fight would've went if Cell was in that state and could use instant transmission the whole fight. I always wondered what would have happened if he just teleported Goku style out of there before the kamahamaha hit

That's a good question. Super Perfect Cell was stronger than SSJ2 Gohan since he used a blast that was suppose to be for Vegeta who is much weaker than Gohan so he probadly didn't put that much power into it but it was strong enough to break Gohan's arm which makes me believe he was stronger than him it's just at the end of the battle Goku gave Gohan some of his power to defeat Cell with the ultimate Father Son Kamehameha.

Gohan the manga even tried to weaken Gohan when he saved Vegeta, so Cell could have a chance and he still lost

gohan was weakened as a kid and still won. so i think ssj2 teen gohan whos only a little bit weaker than a full power ssj2 kid gohan, would edge him out even if hes rusty.
