power levels were just there to show that even tough you can see someone's power level trough the stupid VR looking thingamajing.... that doesn't show their true power.
Power Levels aren't completely pointless because they give you a indacation that DBZ characters haven't shown there true power. People don't realise this and they go completely by factual evidence and state that DBZ characters are only multi-planet busters. They are wrong because if Vegeta with the PL of 18,000 destroyed a planet with a single energy blast in the Saiyan Saga, imagine what a Goku at the end of Z is capable of. He wouldn't show his true power because all of existence would be eradicated. Goku by logic, PL, and PS is a universe buster.
Power levels are completely worthless. I mean goku turning super saiyan 1 is like 150,000,000. Since it takes a power level of 18,000 to blow up a planet, this means that goku can destroy 8,333.3 planets in a single kamehemeha. however this goes against the entire series. For example, when goku is fighting buu or frieza he doesn't even blow up full fledged mountains.
-
so either goku is using 1/20,000 of his energy all the time or power levels are completely pointless.

don't flame me, i am just bringing up a valid point.
It depends on the type of attack and where it hits. For instance a focused attack wouldn't blow up a planet because all of its energy is set in a confined space. A larger attack can incinerate a planet or hit its core to destroy it.
Power levels was originally use for measuring the strength between two opponents to determine who was stronger and who is weaker. In the DBZ universe a person power level is usually constant, unless that person goes under special training or certain conditions are meet like Krillin,Tien, and Yamcha did for example. Power levels for people in DBZ can be resting or use to power up even further, especially for races or character that have the ability to transform. Far as number wise power levels did stop at certain point in the Frieza saga, still power levels play a key factor threw DBZ story line.

Sigh, so many people have no clue how strong DBZ really is. They hype it to f*ck. In truth they really are not that strong. I've got the time so I think I will disprove everyone in this thread.
@Syareoo Half of those are fake power levels. The real ones stop at the Frieza saga. This was originally where the story was suppose to end to, but people told Akira to keep making the series because it was so popular. He stopped making official power levels in the Daizenshuu after that.
@Dark king rayleigh Yep, he blew up the moon. He shattered it into pieces. Piccolo did the same thing. The problem is, this was done WAY early in the series. Can you name Master Roshi's 2nd strongest feat he ever did? How about Piccolo? Piccolo must be crazy strong and has show to blow up at least half the Continent right. No? Nothing he has done was as impressive as blowing up the moon later in the series? Hmm. Wonder why? Well let me tell you. The reason blowing up the moon was introduced was to show the Oozaru for Goku and Gohan. It was to show that they can transform and were not human. Blowing up the moon was the only way to stop them because they apparently are harder to put down the blowing up the moon. <_<. When Piccolo did it, it was so Gohan could transform later and people wouldn't be like WTF HES A HUGE MONKEY! They needed to introduce it earlier so people would not call ass pull. Although the moon feat is an ass pull in itself since either character that did it NEVER showed an feats stronger then that.
This brings us to you Itachi
@Itachi75 He blew up a planet at a power lever of 18,000. I bet you never read the manga huh. Them stopping at the bug planet and Vegeta casually stepping out of his space pod in the middle of space where all of his air would leak out and he would never be able to breath and casually blowing up the planet was all filler. Yep, filler. Want to know another secret? Frieza blowing up planet Vegeta never happened on panel. Him making that huge ball and blowing up the planet was also filler. We have no clue how he got the planet to blow up. We do know he did some attack and it caused the planet to blow up somehow in his base form though. Vegeta did say he could blow up the planet, but when you think of it, what would that blast he fired at Goku do? People drill holes in the earth that big all the time and it doesn't cause it to blow up. Even if it did, it would be the same way Frieza destroyed Namek. I haven't got to that fun tale yet. Why don't we talk about that now actually.
The way Frieza destroyed Namek was by destroying the core of the planet. This causes the planet to become unstable and collapse on itself and blow up. Vegeta could possibly do the same thing, but the power difference between Frieza at 50% and Saiyan Saga Vegeta is insane. It's very unlikely he could have caused the planet to blow up. This is not a true planet buster. A planet buster is someone who can use one attack and cause the planet to completely disintegrate. ANY power like this would have to be stronger then SSJ Goku and 100% Frieza. It is the only way for it to make sense.
@ the rest
People say they are trying to control their power. Bullsh!t. If someone said they were going to kill your family, you would go all out to try and stop them. Saying they were fighting gently not to blow up the planet is stupid. The ONLY way they can blow up a planet is if they charge at attack up and fire it at the planet. We really believed it during the Cell saga when Goku did his warp Kamehameha wave. Unlike the Saiyan saga with Vegeta, it is much more believable Goku could cause a chain reaction to blow up the planet. After all, we saw Frieza do the same thing.
I'm sure someone will bring up Cell said he could destroy the Galaxy and Goku turning SSJ3 cause the planet to almost explode.
This is the same scene in the manga, you know what is actually canon.

As you can clearly see it says the whole Earth, not the solar system. The fact he only blew up King Ki's planet is also a clear indicator of it being a hyperbole. An attack on the surface of the Earth could more then likely blow up the planet. If not that it would be a life wiping attack. Meteors large enough hitting the Earth say would end all life. It's not unlikely Cell could have done the same.
This is Goku turing SSJ3

King Ki NEVER said the planet would blow up. In fact, he was only shown earlier in that to say not to do it because it was use up his remaining time. The part I linked was to show him powering the whole world was shaking. That is the extent of him powering up can do. With that kind of power, I can believe he can blow up a the Earth.
The only person shown to blow up the Earth was Buu. This is Kid Buu mind you. His other forms could have done the same thing. Also, by powerscaling, it can be reasoned Mystic Gohan, SSJ3 Gotenks, and Vegetio could do the same thing since they were stronger then Kid Buu.
Blowing up the Earth, pretty impressive right?
back @ Itachi75 you mentioned being able to blow up 8,333.3 planets with a single attack. You were basing this off of the size of the Earth right? Let me put that in perspective for you.
The size of the Earth compared to our other planets.

The size of the Earth compared to our sun

After everything I said, do you think canon Goku could do 2 planet Earths let alone something the size of Jupiter or the sun? Let's say Goku could in fact make a hole the size of the Earth in Jupiter or the sun. Do you think that tiny hole would do anything to something that size if it was solid? No.
Now looking at all of that, why do people still think they are easily large multi planet to solar system to galaxy busters? Well I blame the non canon and the anime. It is overhyped as f*ck. Then the non canon GT and non canon Broly make it so much worse. I can see non canon Goku being a small multi planet buster to large multi planet buster, but nothing more then that. Canon Goku is a medium planet buster at best.
If any of you want to debate this and say I'm wrong, please try. I've been looking for a good debate since I came here. Just make sure you bring facts with you and don't spout utter bullsh!t. I'm tired of the 1 to 2 line claims saying something as fact and everyone believing it to be also.
I personally doubt that goku can destroy a planet bigger than earth, much less two earths. we can only say he can based on assumptions by characters. for example whitebeard from one piece, was stated to blow up a planet and the 10 tails in narut. do we know that they can? not really. teh only cannon confirmed planet buster was kid buu when he blew up the earth. and we all know Kid buu>goku.

Feats say they can't. Hype says they can. Which do you take over the other. Feats > Hype right? Saying anything else is just people saying stuff without proof.
Although with that said, I would love to see what BB can do with WB's DF. He needs to destroy at least a continent or maybe one of the moons the OP worlds has. Crack it in half, that's all I'm asking for. xd
