Yeah right now I felt it just about fighting and getting stronger and higher levels. No sense of Journey to developed the large world/universe anymore like part 1. It feel too empty. Before Super happen and just in planning phase, I very hope that new arc will focus more on journey.

DBZ now a days seems like a childs show to me. It can't be taken seriously.

This coming from someone with that avatar and signature. It has always been a kids show. I do agree that it is getting out of hand but since saiyan grow stronger after each battle it was inevitable. It has vague descriptions and doesn't go into depth about the world so most of what count as plotholes have to be explained by oneself or do what I do when I watch Fairy Tail- Shut off logic. I personally enjoyed Dragon Ball more but DBZ does have some epic moments. Its centered more around fighting now but its enjoyable to see what will become of the characters who we have watched and relished for so long. Also Golden Frieza looks stupid.

I agree with what others have said about the possible explanations for the plothole. As I said before its the kind of thing you deal by reasoning or don't think at all and just enjoy the series.

My issue with DBZ is that its not enjoyable anymore because its all the same rinse and repeat. Many anime including the one I have avi and signature over have far surpassed the content of DBZ. The shows now a days are required to work extra hard on there content to please the viewers. Meaning they need to show some unique storylines, unique fighting styles, unique transformations, unique character development. The shows now a days have far surpassed there old counterparts in those kinds of things. DBZ for what ever great it was should have stayed as a past memory for viewers to aknowledge. Bring it back now exposes its short comings.

Now while you gave a great suggestion on ignoring its flaws. I kinda find it hard to since its so obvious that the new transformations that have been shown look plain out lazy. Like Super Sayain Blue looks like a Super Sayain with blue hair. SSG is base form with red hair. Like what the ****?

Fairy Tail being better than DBZ is your personal opinion. I'm sure you can find many others who disagree with Fairy Tail being better. It all depends on what you like. I personally like it because of the fantasy setting, the story is just above average for me but there are some parts I like more than most and it has likable characters. Fights are good BUT friendship power ruins it. Don't like fan serivce. If there are people who absolutely don't like these sort of things automatically DBZ becomes better than Fairy Tail. I seem to be going off topic but the reason I mentioned Fairy Tail is because of your first statement. You may find this hard to believe but Fairy Tail also qualifies as a children's show.

It's not really rinse and repeat. The enemies/antagonists are unique and have different powers/origins. But since they don't explain or dive into the explanation of abilities/power it may seem that way. If the new enemy wasn't stronger he/she would be defeated instantly and there would be no story. Because of the ridiculous rise in power because of saiyan trait the story revolves around power. You could reason the things you are not satisfied with until you are or just ignore it. For as many shortcomings it has and arguably may have they don't really matter. As you can see many people are delighted to have it back. New dragon ball stories makes up for any of the short comings of the past that are coming into light if any. Can't do anything about the last part though. I also thought more effort could have been put into it. If you don't like their design google Kami Tenchi and that guy is supposed to be omnipotent. I also didn't like the SSG design but SSGSS was not that bad.

I was actually assuming two categories adult and child. As in, both are shounen. Fanservice doesn't really make it mature. Its a kids show because a child would definitely enjoy watching good guys beat up the bad guys. And reading deeper into the plot can be done for any series if you are gonna say fairy tail has that.@bold: "Today's standard". Not really. Personal opinion. You seem to care only about appearance and not focus on the story at all so can't have a rational argument with you there.
Also believe me when I tell you no one is impressed by what Golden frieza looks like. Poor content and no originality?Honest question: Did you even watch the new one? Or did you believe it was bad without even looking? The story has moved forward only to leave you behind on what it looks like and the belief the series is only good because of nostalgia. Normally I would suggest you to try it and give your thoughts(complain), but you're prejudiced and won't enjoy it as you will see only what you dislike about the series and not what's good.
