So the whole point of Dbz was to see Gohan become a hero and replace his dad right?

After Cell games Gohan was supposed to be the main character but then the fans wanted Goku back. So which one would you have preferred? Gohan as the main character after he beat Cell or Goku staying as the main character? I think it would've been cool if Gohan had truly become the main character.

Ive been with Goku from the original Dragon Ball I would stick with him though it was a let down seeing Gohan go soft. Ive said it before SSJ2 Gohan (Child) > SSJ2 Gohan (Adult).

Even Vegeta made that comment when Gohan fought Debora. He said something like "Gohan was stronger when he was a kid!"

OT: Well since the story is mainly about Goku I can see why they stuck with him, Though Gohan should have still been stronger. I would have had Gohan reach SSJ4 as well.

In a way, Gohan did get his moment of fame in the Buu saga when he was opening a can of whoop-ass on Super Buu before he absorbed Gotenks. This was when SSJ3 Gotenks was fighting on a more-or-less equal ground with Super Buu. Gohan could have destroyed Buu without going another two seasons, but Gotenks couldn't resist the urge to continue fighting and ended up being absorbed. He then could have won again if he had endured a full hour when the fusion would have been lost, but a sneaky portion of Super Buu grabbed a hold of Gohan and had him absorbed for good.

You can't blame Chi Chi. The guy genuinely had no interest in fighting, as stated by himself, aswell Piccolo during the fight with Cell. That being said, he didn't "go soft"

And Goku. Gohan's a good character, but we've followed Goku for 400+ chapters by the time his death came about. No way would you replace him now.

I would've stayed with Goku, since Dragon Ball was all about Goku... But I'd like it if they had an alternate timeline so it would go with Gohan and it was still canon so it was made by Akira Toriyama too like similar to To Aru Majutsu No Index and To Aru Kagaku No Railgun (and soon there will be To Aru Kagaku No Accelerator) but with Gohan as an alternate where Goku stayed in the other side but he would have some appearances and stuff

no they didnt. you literally just made that bullshit up. nowhere was it ever established or stated by anyone that goku retruning was popular demand. toriyama already said in an interview he truly believed goku was the better main protagonist. it had NOTHING to do with fans

"even" vegeta? so now hes an unreliable source? if anything vegeta was lying because he later said "though i dont know what would happen if gohan got mad". gohan was nowhere near serious or angry with dabura. he hadnt killed anyone so how could anyone expect him to bring out his true potential?

no he wasnt. he was an out of character psychopath who nearly got everyone in the universe killed out of selfish arrogance. buu arc gohan was sensible heroic selfless and humble. you know...like a hero is. gohan simply was nowhere near ready and never will be, to have the whole universe depend on him. its not who he is as a person. hes too nice and too humble to be constantly fighting and killing.

you cant "blame" someone for somethign that is a perfect development and made perfect sense. he wasnt "softie". he simply valued his family over blood for the sake of blood. gohans character development is seeing a nervous little boy become a confident self sufficient intelligent man. it has nothing to do with power level.
