I remember being a child, when i got back from school the first thing i did was to turn on the tv to watch dbz, i remember thinking this was the greatest tv show ever and i even pretended to turn super sayan. But now with this new remastered version of dbz, well it now longer feels the same, it feels like dbz has been ruined with the new backgrund music.
Here is a sample of a fragment of the episode where gohan defeats perfect cell:
This one is from the remaster version, try t pay attention to the background music.
(i will post it in the comments since it only lets me to post one video at the time).
And this one is with the old background music, i couldnt find it in english so the voices are in latino.

Now what´s the difference between the old and new background music and why i think the old is better?
First in both we see they start with gohan and cell doing the final kamehameha, both videos also start with a background music which conveys a moment of high tension due to gohan being wounded, the remaster version plays a guitar solo to convey it while the old version plays instrumental music mainly violins, when we compare both i can say i prefer instrumental music specialy violins because instrumental music suits way better when trying to make something look epic.
Then we pass to the part where gohan and cell release their full power in the kamehameha, in the remastered version the same music goes on without any change in the tension of music, while in the old version the music stops for a few secs then another track starts which is even more charged with tension which makes you realize at the same time that this is the moment of the true.
Next we go to the part where cell gets destroyed finally, in the remastered version the music switches to a kinda gloomy music then when the kamehameha dissapears in outer space and we still hear the same gloomy music, then we see the Z fighter smiling and still the gloomy music goes on, why would they play gloomy music whe someone is smiling from happiness?. In the old version the music gets muted as soon as the kamehameha dissapears in outer space , and they let the wind and the voices of the amazed Z fighters do the job of conveying the emotions, because that was a moment when they were like "wow is cell really dead for good?" which i think was better choice than gloomy background music.
Then we go to the part when they land next gohan and are smiling, in the remaster version we still can hear the music with the gloomy air, but why? if they´re smiling and are happy cell´s gone? then we see gohan smiling on the ground and the music switches from gloomy to kind of tragic track that turns quickly into a happy tune, but even though the music is happy it still feel like kinda slow and low energy song after such a great victory, it almost feels like you´re watching a tv show for 5 years old kids, in the old version the music keeps muted until we see gohan smiling and then an instrumental track begins but this music is warm and conveys peace and happines which seems a way better choice than the remaster version because you can relate more.
Overall i think the old background music was way better suited for dbz because:
1. Instrumental music is always better to convey an air of epicness and this show is epic.
2. The music of the remastered version makes me feel like i´m watching blue´s clues or something of the kind.
3. The older version knew when to use silences and let the enviroment and the voices do all the job unlike the new version because the background music never ever stops. You sometimes convey more with a silence than with music.
4. The old version used music according to what the heroes go through, when we see somebody die they play tragic music, when they´re joking they play happy and upbeat music also know when to switch from one track to another is very important unlike the remasters version music which feels monotone imo.
5. Because i grew watching DBZ with these music and it feels weird not watching it with the same.
