Suna is of course is the poorest being in a desert, and this was the reason Rasa formed an alliance with Orochimaru. As far as power goes, none of the Kazekage have ever been truly exceptional. They're just kind of low Kage level or high jonin, but with the title of Kage. Other shinobi seem to average in terms of combat. Konoha's shinobi repelled Suna and Sound ninja during the invasion.


Kumo is definitely the most militant and aggressive. With Ohnoki confirming that the Raikage sanctions the theft and attempted theft of other villages jutsu and KKG. See the Kumo ninjas attempt to kidnap Kushina and Hinata for study of their abilities. Even without stolen jutsus, they have some of the strongest ninja.


Iwa has a strong military and power jutsus, but low economy. Ohnoki admitted that he hired Akatsuki to do missions for Iwa to help bring money into the village. As far as Kage rankings go, Ohnoki was pretty OP for an old man and Muu was killed in a duel against Gengetsu, the 2nd Mizukage.


Kiri is known for their brutality and ruthlessness in training and combat. Looking at the shinobi from their village you can see why. However, the Kiri village has a bias/mistrust of those with KKG. Haku's clan was wiped out for having Ice KKG, Kimimaro's clan was wiped out for their insurrection, and during the war Mist shonobi called KKG "curses".


Konoha seems to have the best balance of shinobi and economy and militant nature.

From reading those stats, Kumo is the best.

It's Economically supported and must be in great condition, it has the strongest military force, and it isn't overpopulated it seems.

A country that aims at neutrality with other countries. Located on top of a mountain, covered in endless snow is the Land of Iron, with a climate that's extraordinary cold. If they appear to be attacked, it's clear that the attacking country will suffer great damage as well.

Possessing a great battle power, the Land of Iron respects morality. It makes sense that they gained a deep trust from the other villages because of that virtue. Considered as a neutral position between the Five Great Ninja Countries, "General" Mifune is appointed as the chairman of the Five Kage Summit. He accomplished that important task while splendidly sticking to his impartial standpoint. It's a country that's acknowledged by the other countries.

The Samurai who protect Iron country, they spend most days aiming to devote oneself to the study of sword techniques. To directly attack the enemy they study how to most effectively use their body as a tool in such a way that their movements are quicker than those of Shinobi (? I think, this was a tough one), additionally they are determined to polish their blades through sword technique mastery. Now in the present time, they test out their katana skillfulness on the stage of the Fourth Great Ninja War!! It's their destiny... When released on the battlefield their sword techniques achieve maximum brilliance, their chief Mifune is a general, they were brought up through multiple wars, and the power of the Samurai spread to many nations (I think this means many nations heard about their strength). By means of their military arts, they disciplined others in the existence of the Samurai of the Iron country!!

Sword techniques that have been handed down in the Iron Country. The skill of the Samurai is released, steel bisection.

"Issen" (or Flash) - is what Mifune announces his technique as in the posted panel and sets up the context of the next bit of text -

Speed of light sword slash flies and assails the enemy! A single blow from the sword techniques of mifune's meitou (legendary sword) Kurosawa comply with this!! (I.E. making the force of the slash fly by moving the sword at the speed of light).

In any case, since they weren't stars, we didn't get to see much history. But they had some pretty strong ninja

Those stats are from the 2nd and 3rd Databook. So before Pein's invasion of Konoha.

With the kind of Jonin Kumo has, and the Jonin Konoha has, I can see why Kumo would be stronger. Konoha has more bodies to throw into a war effort though.

According to the DB, those tools were passed down for years in Kumo. So, someone had them before KinGin. Could have been passed down in KinGin's personal family perhaps-the members that lived in Kumo. Rikudo descendants are everywhere. And trivia-wise, the sword uses up the most chakra-according to DB also. Odd, as I would have thought the rope did.

They literally have the least going for them. Weakest Kage, puppet specialists, fan jutsus and one ninja with Scorch release (who is now dead.

Recall why Rasa made the deal with Oro. To bring money into the village. Well Rasa (Gaara's father) has magnet release, which makes gold dust. You have a Kage who can literally make gold/money and yet the village is still poor? How does that happen?

On paper it's Kumo because we have no other data. It depends on the scale which also unknown thanks to lack of data U_U
