He was fine with creating a jutsu like Edo Tensei.

He was fine with playing with Uchiha corpses so he could understand Sharingan.

And lastly he was fine with Naruto dying as long as he could kill Madara. He watched the guy die, he could save him with hiraishin when Naruto/Kurama was chained. But he wanted Madara to 'win' and lower his guard down.

But then he is trying to convince Madara to spare Sasuke.

Why do you think Tobirama sacrificed Naruto's life but tried to save Sasuke's ?

Maybe he fall for Sasuke's charm or maybe he regretted being a shitty person and decided to do something good in the end or maybe he thought Sasuke was the only man left who could stop Madara..

Like Sasuke Tobirama is a realist. He is like Sasuke in that respect. More importantly.

As Hashirama stated, Sasuke reminded him of Izuna. The same thing probably went through Tobirama's mind when he met Sasuke and thus, out of some form of recompense, felt he needed to save Sasuke if he could.

Also he doesn't hate the Uchiha, he just recognizes what they are capable of and is slow to trust.
