Though I have to agree that Kishi and myself are geniuses.
I think Kishi also made Itachi kill the uchiha clan because of the unknown effects of his genjutsu.
The parents died knowing the uchiha secret, hardly passing it down, then not pass it down and everyone forgets.

That is why so many people get caught by it and only few know/can counter it.
