As Jiraiya finished speaking, he quickly performs a single hand seal & extends his chakra over Dastan putting him under a genjutsu where he sees only infinite darkness.

So Jiraiya without wasting a moment, creates a pillar of earth to rise up in front of him to intercept Dastan's path in mid air, with incredible speed (as shown in anime), about 10 meters wide and 15 meters high lifting the created earth spikes along with it over its surface as it rises which slams Dastan in mid-air, due to is wide area and good speed.

Though Jiraiya couldn't see Dastan because of the pillar he created, he suddenly feels tremors from underneath him immediately after finishing his devouring earth jutsu which leads him to think that Dastan is not dead & some attack is coming from underneath him, so Jiraiya quickly focuses his wind chakra in his right hand and punches his hand directly towards the ground in a slanting 45 degree angle as the pillars rise above the ground around him.

Blaze is somewhat larger than the hawk summoned by Sasuke in manga, apparently because of his wide wing span and deep, long forked tail. The user can ride on top of him.
Blaze specializes in fire techniques and can use fire jutsus upto A rank. As similar to all frigate birds, he is essentially aerial, has the largest wingspan to body weight ratio of any bird and he can stay aloft for more than a week.
He can build up and store the fire chakra effectively in his large red gular pouch located in his neck thus he can effectively perform the fire jutsus. While not using any jutsu via his mouth, he can carry small objects, scrolls or a person in his red gular pouch.

Even-though Dastan destroyed the spikes and stopped the devouring earth, he will still be at vertically long range from Jiraiya as the pillar he created is 15 meters high (long range) so, the following 2 jutsus won't happen..

But as Jiraiya mentioned, the pillar created by moving earth core slams Dastan first, so Dastan with activated plasma ball will be slammed by the raised pillar (A rank) and upper portion of pillar might be destroyed -> Deactivating the armor -> Dastan sustains damage from devouring earth.

Though Jiraiya couldn't see Dastan because of the pillar he created, he suddenly feels tremors from underneath him immediately after finishing his devouring earth jutsu which leads him to think that Dastan is not dead & some attack is coming from underneath him, so Jiraiya quickly focuses his wind chakra in his right hand and punches his hand directly towards the ground in a slanting 45 degree angle as the pillars rise above the ground around him.

So, without wasting time he quickly performs a ram hand seal & just spits out a large volume of water towards the incoming fire, in front of Blaze & him to protect them both from the intensity of fire.

While Jiraiya spits out water, Blaze swiftly half-rotates its body towards its left side & glides to its left and down beneath the level of the pillar as the water is being released by Jiraiya as a reflex to avoid being burned and to hide itself from the visual field of Dastan & his clones.

Jiraiya also knows that due to gravity, the remaining water if any will fall down soon due to gravity, and Dastan & his clone will have no idea as to the location of Blaze & Jiraiya now, as vision of Jiraiya is blocked initially due to his own fire jutsu & later due to steam that would be produced by the collision of water with remaining fire.

So without wasting time, Jiraiya creates a giant earthen of 20 meter diameter just 10 meters right above the pillars surface, which immediately drops down as soon as its created due to gravity crushing Dastan & his clones.
