This is a thread analyzing Darui and Kakuzu's techniques and the ways that they could use them against eachother. Darui has his new weapons in this thread. This one is going to be shorter than my normal ones too.

Kakuzu's Abilities

Iron Skin
Kakuzu is capable of turning parts into his body as hard as iron which also turns the affected body a lot darker. This jutsu could be used defensively, to counter attacks aimed at that body part, or offensively, to increase physical attacks. This jutsu doesn't use handsigns.

How Kakuzu could use this against Darui
Since this jutsu doesn't use handsigns then Kakuzu could activate it in a instant and any taijutsu attacks Darui uses could end up harming himself. However since Lightning is this technique's weakness Darui could use it against him.

Fire Style: Searing Migraine
Kakuzu's fire mask fires a small ball of fire which explodes while travelling and becomes a gargantuan fire-storm. This jutsu is very destructive and when it was used burned all the trees in the area. This jutsu can be combined with the wind-mask to become even stronger.

How Kakuzu could use this against Darui
Kakuzu could use this against Darui when he goes long-range and to stop him from doing his Storm Release. Because of the scale and size of this jutsu it would be difficult for Darui to escape. This jutsu can also be used to stop Darui's water jutsu.

Lightning Style: False Darkness
Kakuzu's lightning mask emits lightning spear from its mouth, which then pierces the enemy. This technique is capable of being focused into a straight beam, similar to a laser.This, coupled with the sheer speed of the lightning, makes it a difficult technique to evade.

How Kakuzu could use this against Darui
This technique is really strong as it even pierced through rock so Darui would find it hard to tank. Kakuzu can also emit more than 1 spear and this could counter Darui's Storm Release by shooting straight at it.

Wind Style: Pressure Damage
Kakuzu's wind mask shoots a small compressed blast of wind which was capable of blasting Choji off his feet even though he was no where near the blast. It was strong enough to easily break through trees and if combined with Fire-Style Searing Migraine becomes deadly.

How Kakuzu could use this against Darui
Kakuzu could use this to counter Darui's lightning techs and even attack him from far. If Kakuzu increases its density it can become a small tornado-like explosion.

Earth Grudge
This is Kakuzu's secret forbidden jutsu. Kakuzu can transform his body into a rag-doll's, which is held together by hundreds of thick black threads. Kakuzu was able to manipulate these threads for many purposes. He was capable of sewing up any injuries that he or others might suffer, most commonly by reattaching body parts. In addition to sewing up his injuries, he could use the threads to tear into a victim's body, steal their hearts, and integrate them into his own body, extending his life. Kakuzu usually used this method to steal hearts from powerful shinobi, and was able to store up to four spare hearts in his body at any given time, meaning that all hearts must stop functioning in order for Kakuzu to die. The extra hearts in Kakuzu's body are normally stored in masks that were sewn onto his back, granting him vast amounts of chakra and numerous elemental affinities. He could detach these masks and have them take on a body of their own, composed entirely of threads. These masks were capable of attacking separately, unleashing devastating blasts of elemental chakra. These threads could also compact together to form a spider-like body around Kakuzu, allowing him to fuse the attacks of his masks together in order to increase his attacking power.

How Kakuzu could use this against Darui
This will be Kakuzu's trump card when fighting Darui. Darui will have to kill Kakuzu five times and if Kakuzu lets all his hearts out then he will have to face 6 different opponents. Kakuzu could also use Taijutsu attacks from far by hardening his hands and then letting them off on threads to fight hand-to-hand from a distance. He could use his immortality to his advantage and surprise Darui into thinking that Darui had killed him and then attacking at the last second.

Darui's Abilities


Water Style: Water Encampment Wall
This is one of Darui's defensive techniques which creates a wall of water around the him. Enemy attacks are completely intercepted by a fence of water blown out from his mouth. The water is blown out in the form of a circle around the Darui, and it makes for a defence without openings. It is also possible for the Darui to control the amount of water and duration at will.

How Darui could use this against Kakuzu
Darui could use this jutsu to stop Kakuzu's False Darkness attack and he could stop him from coming close for taijutsu attacks. He could also use Lightning Release: Wave of Inspiration in conjunction with this attack.

Lightning Style: Wave of Inspiration
Darui generates a large amount of lightning from his hands, which can also be passed through conductive materials to improve the electrical power of the technique, to attack foes.

How Darui could use this against Kakuzu
Darui could use this against Kakuzu when he is encased in Iron Skin because its elemental weakness is Lightning. He could also use this technique with Water Encampment Wall which allow him to both shock and push the Kakuzu away.


Storm Release: Laser Circus
Darui creates several beams and shoots them at the enemy. First, a ring of light spreads around the Darui's hands. Then it completely covers Darui’s hands and from that the beams are shot out towards the enemy. The user can increase the number of beams to a great amount to pin down an enemy.

How Darui could use this against Kakuzu
Darui is able to alter the beams direction after being shot which would help him combat all the different masks if they split. He could also make Kakuzu lose several hearts by striking at different times with the lasers. He is proficient enough with Laser Circus to do this as he was able to hit Ginkaku when he was holding Samui as a hostage right next to him.

Black Lightning: Black Panther
Black Lightning is a unique form of Lightning utilised by the Third Raikage, who passed it on to Darui. Darui generates black lightning from his body which takes the form of a panther. Darui can manipulate it to affect multiple victims at once by electrocuting them. This jutsu is also capable of paralyzing any when it hits as shown when Darui used it against several Zetsu.

How Darui could use this against Kakuzu
Darui could use this to finish off Kakuzu when he has no hearts left. Because of the nature of this technique he could use it to hit more than one mask. The jutsus potency can be increased through the adding water or even using water that is already in the environment.

Sages Weapons
After taking the Sage of six paths weapons off Kinkaku and Ginkaku he was incredibly skilled with them, even though it was his first time using it, and eventually managed to beat them with their own weapons. He has shown a large enough chakra reserve to use them, and was able to use 3 of the weapons for quite a some time, while TenTen fainted after swinging one of the weapons.
How Darui could use this against Kakuzu
Darui could use the weapons against Kakuzu by turning his most used word against him. Kakuzu’s most used word ,from what we have seen of him, would probably be “Money”. Darui could try and touch Kakuzu with the rope and Kakuzu would think that it is an offensive attack and use Iron Skin to block it, which would fail. Darui could trick Kakuzu into saying his most used word or even trick him into staying silent.

Conclusion
Out of these two ninja I personally think Darui is better because he is able to counter most of the things in Kakuzu's repertoire. He also doesn't need to worry about the numbers advantage because of Storm Release being able to hit lots of different targets at once. But this is only my opinion. :shrug:

Don't underestimate Kakuzu, he's number 4 in Akatsuki IMO.

Don't underestimate Kakuzu, he's number 4 in Akatsuki IMO.

I'm guessing that Tobi,Nagato and Itachi are 1-3.
Darui technically doesn't have to kill him 5 times just injure him severely. If Kakuzu splits he could use a bigger version of Laser Circus and send 4 at each separate heart.

Ok I will try my best.

Kakuzu has the advantage in Taijutsu because of his Iron Skin but as Kakashi said its weakness is Lightning and Darui could imbue his Cleaver Sword or even the SOSP sword to penetrate Kakuzu's Iron Skin.

Darui could also use Laser Circus to attack Kakuzu's hearts when they separate. He could even use this while Kakuzu hasn't released his hearts by attacking him at different times after he has sacrificed a heart. If two hearts are near each other than Darui could use Black Lightning and potentially hit two or even more if they are positioned right as it is shown that Black Lightning spreads over a wide radius and with the adding of water was capable of paralyzing and killing more than a Dozen Zetsu's.

His has shown the chakra levels to fight against numerous enemies too. He was able to use Black Lightning,fight Kinkaku and Ginkaku, use SOSP weapons(which made Tenten faint when she swung one) for a long duration of time and even was able to stay standing after that and even challenged Tobi after all that.

Kakuzu should take this with high difficulty. Kakuzu would have pretty bad time dealing with Black Lightning and Storm Release. But I think Darui hasn't got enough power to destroy all 5 Kakuzu hearts. I'd say 2-3.

How can Kakuzu counter black panther? I see no way he can get away from that. Plus he can easily take out all his hearts in one shot with laser circus. That ability is super fast and the accuracy is damn near perfect. He would have to have some good defense or speed to counter laser circus.

True. Darui shot about a dozen lasers and only one of them was enough to injure Kinkaku(Look carefully at the left and you can see one of them curving and hitting Kinkaku.)

Darui's Lack of knowledge on Kakuzu's abilities could mean he could feign his defeat and counter swiftly after Darui's lowers his guard to kill him instantly much like how he snuck up on Kakashi

would prove to be an ineffective method against a foe like Kakuzu, splitting his four masks from himself and allowing them to act independently changes the odds from a 1 vs 1 to a 5 vs 1. Laser Circus is a kamikaze like ninjutsu which the user must guide towards the intended target by keeping their hands together, individuals blasts from Kakuzu's masks means he's forced to dodge rather completing the entire jutsu, essentially rendering it nothing but a chakra taxing mechanism.

Whilst admitting Kakuzu's Doton Domu has a inherent weakness to lightning, Kakuzu acknowledges and once realizes he's facing a lightning-based ninja he could use it tactically or not even at all as its main use stems from Taijutsu battles but his own close combat superiority relinquishes the need for the jutsu's use. Even then Kakuzu possesses the four elements of Wind, Fire, Lightning and Earth in his arsenal, with this he holds the perfect counter to Darui's Lightning release. The Wind Element is a natural insulator and inherently overpowers Lightning through its elemental advantage, Kakuzu's Wind Release volleys and to an extent

would prove more than enough for a suitable counter to Darui's Lightning affinity which makes up a large component of his arsenal.

The sheer scale of one of Kakuzu's Wind Release Techniques

Kakuzu's Fire and Wind Masks have also shown an ability to infuse with one another to create a devastating combination, capable of mass destruction to the terrain in as little as one blast. Darui's fairly average use of Water Release would pale in comparison to this, with Water Release: Water Encampment Wall only softening the intensity of the blast at most. The combination proved to be so troublesome that Kakashi, Chouji and Ino couldn't hope to counter it. It was shown to evaporate but also be canceled out by Naruto's Wind Rasengan fused with Yamato's Water Vortex Typhoon. Darui doesn't posses the wind affinity, can't perform any water technique on that scale and essentially lacks a viable counter for as little as 2 of Kakuzu's masks.

Kakuzu's proficiency in Taijutsu along with his immense physical strength (enough to stop a punch from Chouji with ease) means he either equals if not far surpasses Darui's capabilities in Kenjutsu. The tipping factor which also gives Kakuzu the edge in this field of combat is unique body structure of composition which is held together by thousands of black threads. He's shown the ability to freely manipulate these for several purposes be it sewing up wounds but mainly as a combat offensive. Through the use of his black threads, his Taijutsu reaches a whole another level granting him the ability to attack from multiple directions, create sneak attack methods, restrain and choke his opponents once they're caught and even enter his Earth Grudge Fear Transformation.

caused him to expel thousands of threads from his body which he could alter for either short or long range and merge his masks onto his body (Fire and Wind Masks perched on his shoulders) where they can also act individually from there to create an entire battalion of possible attack methods. Whilst in this state Kakuzu can engage Darui in a Taijutsu battle overwhelming with the sheer multitude of dark thread offensives and his already highly regarded Taijutsu skills. Kakuzu's masks also acting independently on his shoulders mean he can use them as simultaneous offensive to catch him off guard whilst preoccupied with escaping the dark threads, the blast radius of his Fire and Wind offensive is so large, only Space Time user extremely fast ninja could avoid. Darui is neither.

I have Kakuzu winning this fight be cause, he can be a short to long range fighter. Although his earth jutsu is weak against lightning, he still have the wind technique to counter. If he combine the wind and fire technique together, it's going to be a problem for Darui. Not to mention, how fast Kakuzu threads are. He caught Kakashi, Ino, and Choji before they even got a chance to get away. It will be a good fight. But in the end, Kakuzu got this match.
