-Darui is the perfect counter to Gaara because of the nature of his abilities. Laser Circus could nullify Gaara's sand because it is composed of water and lightning. If Deidaras Explosive Style keke genkai is weak to and nullified by lightning because it is composed of earth and another element then the opposite is also true. Only one element from a keke genaki is needed to counter a standard element. Gaara sand comes from the earth therefore making it Earth Style so to speak, which is weak to lightning, a component of Storm Style. This would also explain why the only jutsu to ever break through Gaaras sand was the Chidori and also why Sandaime Raikage activated his Lightning Armor to break free of its restraints easily. Also, the fact that Storm Style is composed of water as well nullifys the sand completely because the water properties from the Storm Style will make it wet, heavy, and harder to use on top of the lightning properties piercing through and breaking it up completely as it would do any Earth Style.
-In other words, Gaara is in trouble. He can't rely on his sand defense to defend from Laser Circus and Black Panther because they pierce through it easily. Now all Gaara has is base speed to try and dodge Darui's attacks which I'm sure you would agree is not happening, considering his speed is equal to V1 Lighting Armor Ay, and he is certainly not dodging the Laser Circus because they flow, bend like water, and are guided like missiles and Darui can increase the number of them if he wishes but for more chakra obviously.
-The location of this fight renders no one able to kill the other off the bat. I'm sure most people are going to argue Gaara would stay in flight high in the air where Darui can't reach him but Darui can also stand in the water the whole fight rendering Gaara's sand useless if he tries to attack Darui with it. This location makes the debate boring because I'm sure both parties will argue this back and forth however since I am taking Darui's side I will say that the Laser Circus has incredible range and he might KO Gaara with it him he uses it right off the bat.

is the distance between the alliance and the Juubi. Notice that they are are very far away. Why? Because if they were not they would look like mere ants up close to the Juubi. Kurama and Gyuki (biggest beast in size) are barely the size of oneof the Juubis hands and they make humans look like ants. The Juubi is titanic in size and they are so far away you can't even see Madara or Obito standing on it.

you see the Lasers alone went that huge distance in the second frame. Notice in frame three you see Madara absorbing them via rinnegan and some are even going past him and Obito. Now obviously I cant measure the exact distance the jutsu traveled but I can estimate that from the scans the Laser Circus has a range of at least 500 meters. This can go up for debate as well. I'm not saying this is right, just what I think, I'll be happy to be disproved.Now with that said, a Laser Cicrus right off the bat could potentially kill Gaara, I already established how it shoots right through his sand defense and them being guided makes it that much easier for this to happen before Gaara reaches a safe distance in the skies. These beams are very fast, noted by Ginkaku and Kinkaku and they hold lots of weight in this debate considering its Darui's only major fight in the series. Kinkaku wanted to dodge Laser Circus when Darui first shot it when he was holding Samui but he could not which is why he made that little comment. This goes to show how fast this jutsu is because Ginkaku and Kinkaku left Tobriama and Nidaime Raikage on the verge of death, someone with FTG and we know all the Raikages have top speed. If you really think about it, they should not have been able to even touch Tobirama and the Raikage in that fight yet they did which goes to show they aren't slow by a long shot, fought on par with the two fastest shinobi of that era, and were still blitzed by Darui and couldn't react to his Laser Circus, both times he used it.
When it comes to chakra they might be equal in this category. Gaara has large reserves of chakra from being Shukakus host but Darui also has large reserves because he utilized several of the sage tools while fighting without dying, and they are suppose to kill normal humans who have.... average chakra lets say if someone uses one. Perfect example is TenTen, she used the Banana Fan to kill one of Kakuzu's hearts then collapsed about to die until a medic hurried and healed her. They both got big chakras so that is why I ranked them equal in this category.
So to end all of this....hmm...... yeah I think Darui will win because Laser Circus or Black Panther one shots him. The location of this fight makes it boring because if Gaara manages to get high in the sky beyond even the Laser Circus reach then Darui just stands on the water and........... no fight really occurs. Maybe the location needs to be changed to a neutral area where neither of them has the advantage. I don't like Gaara topics because hes at the advantage in every location. He can always either fly up in the sky or crush minerals wherever hes at in the ground for more sand. Pretty cheap if you ask me.
