Darte has the standard Nara lazy attitude, however, rather than complain about work that he’d rather not do, Darte has the tendency to simply make fun of or insult whatever it is he doesn’t want to do. For him, pointing out the flaws in an assignment work to get out of work far more often than whining does. He usually tends to have a very negative attitude.

Background Info.
History:
Darte was born in Konohagakure. He has three siblings. Of his siblings, only Darte and his younger sister went on to become shinobi. His mother was a shinobi, however, his father owned a local bar where he met his mother, who frequently went there to complain.
Upon entering the ninja academy, Darte shocked everyone by doing more than any past member of the Nara. Rather than just not do the work, Darte went as far to publicly voice in class how stupid he thought each and every assignment was. This quickly earned him disciplinary action, which, in the end, he simply slept through.
After finally managing to get through the ninja academy Darte was assigned to a standard genin squad. Darte frequently would trick his teammates into doing large amounts of work during the mission while keeping easy positions for himself, such as “the lookout.” (Sleeping in a tree.)
Luckily for Darte, his team’s sensei found Darte’s manipulation of his teammates to be, ‘good leadership elements’. Despite knowing that Darte had arranged his team in a way that involved him doing no work, his team always seemed to somehow finish missions extremely quickly.
After a year of being a Genin, Darte’s team was entered in the Chuunin exams. Darte decided that he was going to put his heart into it, saying that, “Being a Chuunin would be a nice change in scenery. Getting ranks above my annoying ex-classmates sounds great.” With Darte interested in the exams, his team was able to go through the Chuunin exams relatively easily, with the result being all of Darte’s squad graduating to the rank of Chuunin.
A short time after becoming a Chuunin, Darte’s younger sister, Bella, was kidnapped on a mission by a group of rogue ninja, wanting a ransom from the wealthy Nara clan. After his precious little sister was kidnapped, Darte was unable to remain patient and wait for the ransom to be paid. He decided to go against his orders and infiltrate the compound of the rogue ninjas to rescue his sister.
Upon entering the compound, Darte was able to create a plan which utilized his Shadow Possession skills on a group of the low ranked rogue ninja, using them as scouts and puppets to trick the higher ups into falling into traps that Darte had already set. When he finally reached his sister, Darte was both relieved and elated. Not only had he successfully saved his little sister, but Darte had outwitted and out skilled a group of infamous rogue ninja.
Upon returning to the village, Darte had expected to be punished. But upon hearing his story the Hokage made the decision that his accomplishment was worth being promoted to the rank of Special Jounin, on the premise of his high skill in infiltration.

Darte carries several kunai in a pouch on his right arm. These are mainly used when he needs to take out weapons while using the shadow possession technique.
