CHAPTER FOUR: THE TRAINING BEGINS
It was dawn already I could feel her soft body beside me. She was my light a beacon in the disaster I was drawn to her like moth to flame. But I am not complaining even today I miss that warmth Ambriel brought with her. Today I wish that I stayed by her side but again a wrong decision of mine ruined everything, everything that my family my ancestors built all that my father fell to protect was ruined by my choice. Truly father did you have to choose me as your heir Marcus or Aragorn hell even Berethor was a better choice all in all father I let you down.
I stood tall the warm lights of sun touching my bare body playing with my hair, I fixed my gaze at the great tower its crimson color is burning in the touch of the sun light, this is the tower my race is sworn to protect with our lives. “Stop being so serious all time dear, even in the face of this beauty you are thinking of your duties.” The soft voice of my love shook me from my thought at once. I was calm like never before.
“So tell me dear what do you plan to do today?” Ambriel asked me her hands caressing my back. I stayed silent as I considered this. “Ulthane, I need to seek him out he can train me in the art of weapons better than anyone else.” Silence reigned for a while then she replied, “So you still are willing to face the dark one. After all the things you learned yesterday.” I only nodded. She turned around, “well then I wish you luck search north from the citadel may be you will find him and please be safe for me.”
Three days later.
I was on my way to the mountains strangely no one could tell me where to find Ulthane according to Abbadon he comes only when summon is heard. The old bastard seemed to hide something but he out ranked me then so the only option was to swallow my doubt and I did just that. So right now Marcus and I were on our way following the only hint Ambriel had given me three days earlier. I wanted to go on this journey alone but Marcus tagged along whenever I tell him to turn back he just replies that this is not my own fight this is the fight of the guardians of this heaven. I can’t deny that I am not glad that he tagged along. So right now two brothers are on their way to find the greatest weapon maker to ever exist, though we share a common goal our reasons are different, I want to be strong to avenge the death of my sire or fall trying and Marcus to achieve strength enough guard our home.
Meanwhile in a huge forge in the heart of Mount fang
Clangs of hammer strike could be heard from the core of the chamber a huge figure is seen forging a weapon, “lord Ulthane it’s as you foretold the two sons of the Nephlim lord are on their way to here.” A new shadow nearly of the same stature of that of the forger appeared. The weapon master continued on his work which now appeared to be a huge sword nearly of the same height as that of mine. ”prepare the test we must see if they are worthy of the learning the way of the sword or not.”
Meanwhile back to the journey.
“I still don’t think you made the right choice by following me you could have learned the art by staying in the city Erdwin could teach you. You are after all my finest general and without us the city seems vulnerable.” Marcus didn’t even flinch when I scolded him he knew me very well, perhaps one of the best. Suddenly I felt a strange smell in the air my nerves were screaming me for battle from the corner of my eyes I could see Marcus stiffen his arms reaching for the twin blades strapped in his back. I too followed suit and soon we stood battle ready back to back yielding the beautiful weapons of slaughter.
“Marcus try to feel any sort of disturbance in the flow of elementals.” I commanded though I don’t like to accept it my brother could tune himself better with elements.
“Be prepared they are attacking from both the sides they are seem to be beings of deep and old magic. But there seems to be someone controlling them though I cannot find him yet.” I tightened my grasp on the hilt of my trusted blade light reflecting from its sharp edges.
Then I spotted them too fallen swordsmen of darkness but what they are doing here in the realm of light if what Marcus deduced is correct then there is only one possibility it’s a test for us. But I don’t cower away from tests or fight. As four who were on my side stopped advancing I took initiative,
“Go brother for the honor of our ancestors.” We charged at our adversaries one of the swords men dashed forward his hand holding a heavy sword he slashed at my head, ducking under the attack I used the edge of my weapon to press against his body and used my powers to enhance the sharpness of the sword as I saw my blade glow with the red I dashed forward with enhanced cutting powers cut the body in half. In front of me was another of the swordsman bringing down his heavy axe overhead without pausing the flow of my attack I poised the flat side of my sword to block his slash his superior physical strength drove me backwards. I knew the other two are just waiting for me to finish this job so gave short jump and took my stance again the mindless corpse ran towards me and swiped this axe from the left side but this time I was ready and my blade met him in the process both of us attacking and defending at the same time as our weapons clashed with each other again and again. Seeing the offence to be fruitless I kicked his hand a moment’s gap was all I needed to use the upper cutting move and the body fell there in two clean parts a complete dissection. The other two attacked at the same time but this time I was ready concentrating my mind I started to predict their next moves and counter them soon in spite of outnumbering me they were losing as dodged the attack from the left one pinning down his sword to the ground with my foot and removed his head from his shoulder and simultaneously doing a 180 slash ripped the last opponent in two but to my horror all of the four bodies formed again.
“Why don’t stay dead you mindless drones” I spat out. This time I was mad my rage was building and so did my powers they attacked me at the same time but my superior skill and speed allowed me to counter block and dodge their attacks one after one. All the while fueling my blade with my life force and rage after a few moments I felt the blade to vibrate from the power within jumping a few steps back I gripped my sword with both my hands and downed it in left side prepared for my strongest combination of attacks in a fluent motion I drew my sword in a wide arc landing it on my right and instantly used the same move from right. Two arcs of red energy raged towards my opponents the power creating crater on the ground the fallen warriors tried to block the attack but as I knew they were ripped in to pieces weapons and all shattered upon the collision with the energy slash that I used.
“That was quite a powerful move but your real test begins now.” A giant with red armor came into view ,” yeh will have ta fight and beat me fair and square to gain your entry pass gotcha kid now time to shake things up.” He faced against me as I saw another giant in black facing Marcus.
“so finally it gets interesting” I put sword beside me channeling my soul energy so empower it the lust of battle was on me the true Nephlim against the giant this is going to be a fight worth praise.
