Despite this, Darkseid is a great tactician and warrior, proving himself capable of battling waves of armies. Like any others, he too desires power and goes through great lengths to strengthen himself.

Background Information
History: Darkseid, before his reign, was formally known as Uxas. In this time, Apokolips was a rich, thriving village and it resisted the test of time for many centuries. However, the economy would soon reach an all time low when the resources began to decline rapidly. Soon, Apokolips would fall under the weight of their own debt. Angered by his government's inability to respond, Uxas spoke in different regions of the village and gained the support of many clans and tribes. He promised prosperity to all and the soon return of Apokolips' golden age. With the majority of the citizens under his belt, Uxas overthrew the government, and took the mantle of Dictator.
Corrupted with power, Uxas did not bring prosperity and free will to the people, instead enslaving them through any violent means. He adopted the alias, Darkseid, and with an iron fist, ruled Apokolips. Darkseid would soon have two sons, and he bestowed upon them his status as Dictator of Apokolips. In his secluded tomb, he slumbered for countless years, awaiting the day and age he would return.
