Darkness Vs. Light

I pray to the Lord that he hears my cries
As my spirit wonders into the lonely night
Trying so desperately to find the light
It feels as if I'm caged in my mortal life

Darkness overwhelms my heart
It feels as if I'm losing this fight
As my soul weeps with tears of blood
Death is what I truly lust
It's never tasted so sweet
As I shiver from the coldness pinching my feet
The demons within me ignites my heart with fire
For it is the light that I truly desire

Pain lives on through the night
But suddenly, the darkness is overpowered by Heavens light
The cage that is my life finally fades
And now the angels have come my way
For may I be free from this pain
I can finally gain true peace
As I finally rest in a peaceful sleep
