Well the Dark element, or mostly called Dark Release is a special KG that can be used for absorbing things, and can also be used to release the things you've absorbed right back at the opponent. Dark release is a element that can also be used for manipulating things from any given enemy that there is. So putting it in short terms, Dark Release is solely based on absorbing chakra and using it as there own. Sorry for lack of description, thats really all I can input on it tbh.
2). Why do you want to learn Dark release?
Why I want to learn Dark Release is pretty simple, really. I love its absorbing techniques such as Inhaling Maw and the techniques that you can use after absorbing ones move with the technique, overall I find the element very useful at all times and I also think I can make it more versatile with custom jutsu's for it when I get the chance to, to expand its versatility, not to mention that it kind of fits my characters personality greatly. But what truly made me want to learn Dark Release is the Revival Fist technique, it some how made me interested into the element and I started looking at its other techniques then ended up making a bio for it xD.
3). What are the two elements that make up Dark release?
The two elements that make up Dark Release are Fire and Lightning, which you combine the two elements to make Dark Release.
4). Who is the ninja who uses our KG?
The user of Dark Release would have to be Hiruko that wasn't shown in the show but in the movie, The Will of Fire.

Meiton is a KG in which the user acts almost as an Organic Fuuinjutsu of sorts, absorbing and releasing physical and spiritual energies (chakra). Because it works, in a sense, like a Fuuinjutsu, the absorbed chakra doesn't actually enter the users Chakra Circulatory System (like what happens with the Rinnegan's absorption abilities) but its kept in the KG mark, as if stored in a separate space within the body. One can say the squares (upper and lower) are much like portals to the sealing space but the sealing space has no connection with the user's chakra. Because of this, the user has little control over the form he can release said chakra. As he releases it, it manifests in a raw energy form rather than a specific elemental one.

Yes, Hiruko is the one who uses it, he used it via the Chimera Technique, to change his chakra type to Dark, Steel, Swift and Storm.
Okay, I shall explain the strength and weaknesses of our KG.
Dark Release is strong towards energy based elements because energy absorption is the core ability of dark release. Not only that but Energy is easier to absorb and manipulate than matter. Another thing, Dark is able to absorb things like; Storm, Dust, Scorch and even raw Sage Jutsu.
But when release your opponents technique, if your opponent blocks using any of the following; The four obvious ones; Fire, Wind and Raw chakra along side these more uncommon ones; Sand, Rain, Steam or Boil you will have the upper hand, since dark just eats right though energy based chakra.
While Dark isn't strong against Water and Earth since they are both matter elements and, lets be real you can't absorb something that is matter, just doesn't work like that. Earth suffers double strength towards the absorbing ability of Dark Release (meaning that only an S-Rank Dark release can absorb a B-Rank Earth technique)
And again when release your opponents technique. If your opponent blocks using any of the following; The two obvious ones Earth and Water as well as; Solid Ice, Steel, Wood or Lava. They will overpower your dark as they are matter based.
Dark has been slightly nerfed, lighting can be absorbed, but when pitted against lighting. They will cancel one another out. Obviously have to be the same rank.
The reason I like dark release, it gives you the chance to absorb your opponent attack and redirect it stronger.

Yes it can, it can absorb any raw form of energy, even if it was Dark Release energy, when Dark Release absorbs something then releases it, it releases it in the form of enhanced raw energy, other techniques are the same thing as well, ofcourse all following the appropriate ranks.

Let me ask you this, what is the usual color of dark based chakra attacks?
Well I'd say a dark-ish purple when it comes to most techniques but in the movie after he used the Inhaling Maw technique and used Judgement there were light blue flames being released out from his hands. So I'd majority of the Dark Techniques to be a dark purple.

I know all the canon techniques require inhaling maw to use but. Just humour me for this next thing.
Try and gather up your lighting chakra in one hand, and your fire chakra in the other hand. Then try and merge the two into dark chakra, it sounds easy enough. But it is not.

Listening to Nathan and following his instructions carefully I had quickly took a deep breath and got ready for the task as quick as possible. I then start to concentrate my chakra into my left hand and with the use of nature manipulation it gradually changes to fire chakra and also did the same for my other hand but the only difference is that this hand is being concentrated with my lightning chakra. I then quickly clap both hands together, merging both of the chakra into one, creating Dark Release.

I listen as I notice Nathan shoot out a fireball at me, probably to test my skills in dark release. He told me the instructions but its more easier said than done. As the fireball flew towards me I lifted up my right hand in a forward direction and awaited til it got close enough. Upon getting close I use my Dark chakra by combing the two elements fire and lightning and started to extract and absorb the fireball with upper diamond (1 of the 2) located on my hand until the fireball is completely absorbed.
You won't need to combine your lightning & fire chakra to create dark chakra every time. Once you finish this training you, you'll have enough of an understand to just create the dark, or have the dark chakra dormant.

That you will send towards my clone, who is at long range of you. This is a longer wave and goes further then the latter.

That you will send towards my clone, who is at long range of you. This is a longer wave and goes further then the latter.
Seeing my Sensei release a wind technique which comes at me at fast speeds I start gathering my Dark release chakra now that I gotten full control over it. Before it could reach me I lift up my right hand in a horizontal position and use the upper square on my hand to absorb the raw chakra successfully. Soon after absorbing it I use my bottom square on my right hand to release the absorbed chakra into dark waves at the clone with the use of shape manipulation to form it into a wave.
After doing the other technique correctly I see another wind release technique sent towards me. I quickly repeated the process like last time, gathering dark chakra and using my upper square to absorb the chakra. Using a bit more chakra than last time I used my lower square to released the absorb chakra in the form of a wave like the other time using shape manipulation, except its bigger than last time that flew towards the clone.
After doing the other technique correctly I see another wind release technique sent towards me. I quickly repeated the process like last time, gathering dark chakra and using my upper square to absorb the chakra. So after absorbing a technique with maw, you will release the chakra in both of your hands. Then by releasing it outwards in the form of a shockwave. At long range the shockwave will push them back, same for mid-range. But if used within short range of your target, it will cause massive internal damage. So this technique is best used when in short range of your target.
