Danzou claims that if Itachi stood by the Uchiha's side both him and the entire clan would be annihilated. And we all know that Itachi get's a helping hand from Obito. Would Konoha even stand a chance against Obito, Itachi, and the rest of the Uchiha clan? I think that the Uchiha coup d'etat could have succeeded with less commotion so there wouldn't be a huge war with other nations involved.

Hiruzen, Kakashi, Danzo, Guy, Hiashi, Jiraiya, Tsunade, senior ino-shika-cho, and a few others are capable of taking on many uchihas by themselves. Obito and Itachi are the main threats and they can only use their trump cards for so long. Obito 5 min, and Itachi has low chakra reserves anyways.

Why was he against the Uchiha specifically? I thought he just wanted to bring the whole village down.
