Danzo was not a very smart person...

I like Danzo. He was strong and badass. It just seems like intelligence was not his forte, and here's why I think so:

-Obviously his radical ideals. He believed that Akatsuki, a peaceful organization in a foreign country, would threaten his ascent to power so he killed the leader.
-He saw no alternative to the Uchiha clan issue other than just slaughtering them all. He didn't even try peace talks. Hiruzen is to blame for this too.
-He let a mad scientist inject him with Hashi cells, fully aware that 60 other children had died when injected with Hashirama's DNA.
-He didn't try to kill Sasuke at the beginning of his fight with the Reverse Tetragram Seal. If he used it while he had izanagi activated, he would have been totally fine and Shisui's eye would remain unharmed, since izanagi lets the user keep the advantageous factors of that minute and dismiss the disadvantageous factors as a dream. In fact, he should have been able to spam that technique.
-He didn't try to catch Sasuke off-guard with izanagi. Instead, he tried to stab a Susano'o with a freaking kunai knife. Really man?
-He trapped Sasuke under an immobilizing seal, and instead of just stabbing him there and then, he gave him a short little talk, giving Sasuke time to overcome the seal.

There's probably more stuff but I just can't think of it all.

and the seal only works when he's dieing so if he used izanigi he would either be healed and seal wouldnt activate of he izanigi's half dead to save him self from seal . . . .and still dies

What he did wrong
He didn't use kotoamatsukami on Itachi.I wrote somewhere else about how he could have controlled Itachi during the Uchiha clan massacre but i was obviously wrong.Orochimaru transplanted him the eyes and Senju dna after Itachis mission so although he had Shisuis eye at the time he couldn't have used it.But...He could have used it on Itachi when he visited the village with Kishame.He wpould have disposed both Sasuke and Itachi and also take his mangekyos.Moreover he could have used it on Hiruzen and the other elders and practically control the entire village.Not to mention that he could control some,if not all,of the other Kages if he was lucky...Like what Obito did to the Mizukage with his normal sharingan.Now that i think of it Danzo could have silently achieved world domination.His jutsu was way too powerful and the fact that he didn't use it to achieve any of that creates a major plot hole.

I agree with this.

Considering that Konoha was at peace for years between him and Hiruzen (excluding Oro's invasion), he was smart for his job. However, I lost faith in his combat skills once I saw Sasuke kill him once with a few shuriken. But then again, plot demanded that he lose and waste a ton of sharingan.

That and the stuff about Oro injecting Hashirama's DNA into kids is filler from the Kakashi Anbu arc. Obviously Yamato is one of Oro's experiments in the manga and it did happen, but we don't know if Danzo ever knew about it according to the manga.

@bold: This really describes how I feel about the whole thing too. I can see that some people are trying to have gifs similar to what I've always been doing on NB for over a year now yet it seems like a trend for everyone to start doing it now. It just really seems like people are doing it now just "fit in" or look cool which is dumb since there's no point in doing such a thing on an internet forum Lol I liked it better when everyone looked like they were doing their own thing.
