Danzo was a true shinobi

Shinobi doesn't mean hero.
A shinobi does what is needed for the village or the mission and doesn't act based on emotions.
In a way he is similar to Itachi, hated by most for doing what they must.

-Killed the frog to prevent Naruto from being captured by the Pain. (It was highly unlikely Naruto would be able to stand a chance against Pain before learning Sage Mode)
-Sacrified himself while trying to protect the village from Sasuke and Obito.
-Ordered the execution of the Uchiha clan because it was needed for the safety of the village. (Imagine a full clan of insane Uchihas ruling the village/ Shisui probably couldn't have changed it and there was no time left)

Danzo lived in the shadows and died for the leaf, while doing what he thought was best for the village. A true shinobi. (Which doesn't necessarily mean a good guy)

Danzo was a normal shinobi gone the wrong way, even though his actions are very far from being good, and even though I understand and agree that he became a rotten piece of shit, I still like him just because how realistic his character is, and how well he plays his antagonist role. I bet he went through a lot of mental misery, pain and mixed complexed feelings in order to later kill every bit of his good, caring and sentimental self that was left of him. His selfishness and arrogance drove him to the grave, he didn't want to see the world aside from his own stubborn beliefs, he lived his whole life in an void illusion.

His ambitions are more inclined to be selfish than being selfless, wanted power only for himself either sushui's MS or overthrow others for being hokage and not allowing the root helping the village when it needed the most which lead to deaths of other in Part I orochimaru or Part II Pain invasion and manipulating others for his benifits Hanzo and Mifune yes his characteristics may be ideal if he was raikage or tsuchikage but for a hokage that guy is a selfish shit compared to other hokages and may be the reason why he was killed by sasuke while he gave up on killing other elders. Putting in one line he is more selfish than madara atleast madara has genuine love for his brother while this guy preaches that konoha is important to him while just stands still when it is being ravaged by akatsuki WTF. Even kakashi was unable to acknowledge danzo's actions when elders supported him saying that was an excuse for their actions.

Danzo is a bastard, that you just love to hate.

He's not a mustache twirler like Oro.

He's not a zealot with a Messiah Complex like Nagato.

He's not an overemotional Uchiha (whining about how he never got to first base with a girl who never even told him she liked him), like Obito.

He's not a an unstoppable, super powered, maniac like Madara.


It's striking how many pies Danzo had his fingers in (working with Oro, working with Obito, working with Hanzo, working with Itachi) and how people in authority (Hiruzen, Koharu, Homura, the Fire Daimyo) and people from other villages (like Mifune) agree more often that not with his methods.
