Hiruzen needed Danzo. Danzo did the things the Hiruzen couldn't do since he was the hokage. Also Hiruzen would win. Danzo even said so

Ultimately I believe it is up to the Kage, but I think the Konoha elders persuaded Hiruzen to have Danzo help the village from the shadows (doing the things Hiruzen can't bare to do or refuses to do because of his personal beliefs).

I say this because there was a panel that showed Hiruzen's discontent that the Elders wanted Danzo to be a Batman. Can't recall which chapter.

If Kishi will ever show Hiruzen's might I hope it reflects what Danzo said, but I'm afraid it will go like after Hiruzen's death Danzo surpassed him, so that Danzo who fought Sasuke was >Hiruzen and at Hiruzen's death it was Hiruzen>Danzo.

I want to see why he was praised so high by everyone, we know everything danzo is capable of and we have some idea what hizuren can do, I'm going with hizuren though its mostly hype but he had fire element to counter his wind element so that shouldn't be a problem plus hizuren is a much better taijutsu user then danzo the only thing is I don't know if hizuren with what he has shown can make danzo use izanagi for a whole 10 minutes however Emma will be a huge help

I guarantee hype wise, hizuren would win hopefully we see more from him like Kishi showed us tobirama for a while, maybe hizuren is next but with feats, I don't think he could pull it off

theres nothing more desperate in a debate than misinterpreting the manga and using their kid versions as evidence. danzo >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>hiruzen. KA oneshots. danzo never said "hiruzen is so powerful he can throw off the strongest genjutsu ever created" nor would he. he said that hiruzen is always a step ahead in terms of being hokage.

If Enma is summoned and notices anything irregular in hiruzens fighting style or behavior he can just break KA for Hiruzen. Same vice versa.
So Even with KA it isn't an instant win, Especially when KA's controll seemed to be broken once mifune was aware of it, Also it's never said the effects of KA were unbreakable.
