had hiruzen been a true man, and a true leader, he would have seen that stepping down and letting uchihas come in and take over bloodlessly saves both sides from a war. he should have realised this is exactly what will of fire means and what hashirama would have done if caught in this situation.
hashirama understood that most uchihas werent as crazy as madara, and would pacify them in any way he can to avoid bloodshed.

let me ask you a question. if the genocide of uchihas was so heroic and righteous, why didnt the elders just come clean and admit what they did?

Tobirama is a nasty Uchiha hater, who practices some of the most malicious jutsu known to man. Guess what? He's still a hero. The Anbu exist in order to once again, protect Konoha.
konoha is such a corrupt nightmare BECAUSE of danzos brutal methods and ways. its a self fulfilling prophecy.

What Konoha is, is irrelevant. If he was trying to protect it, he was a hero to Konoha. Simple.

danzo already decided the best way to "protect konoha" was to not even try to save it from being destroyed or save tsunade from being killed, just so he can swoop in and rule whoever survived.
