Ok, I must disagree. He NEVER purposely went against the Leaf. EVERYTHING he did was to aid it. EVERYTHING. Let me take a look at your list...
1. He ONLY teamed up with Hanzo to defend against a threat. Whether they didn't mean to go against the Leaf or not, Akatsuki was extremely powerful, and if you're an outsider looking in, it's a threat. Actually, IF Akatsuki had been successfully with back then, then the ninja world could very likely not be facing their current situation. So in reality, what he did with Hanzo was entirely for good.
2. He never dealt with Oro before Oro put into effect his attempt to destroy the Leaf. He only used Oro's intelligence and willingness to do dirty work in order to do good for the Leaf, while Oro was still working WITH the Leaf Village. There is no proof that he worked with Oro AFTER Oro split ties.
3. This is the best example you have for sure, so all that I shall say is that I am sure that he did not expect the destruction of the Leaf to be that extensive. Otherwise, he still did it for the Leaf, because he certainly believed that he could strengthen the Leaf on a level beyond that of Tsunade. So it was still to protect the Leaf, in a way, going by the logic that sometimes you have to tear it apart before you can rebuild it more powerfully.
4. This was to protect the Leaf as well obviously. Without those shinobi doing what they did, chances are the Leaf would have been destroyed on multiple occasions. The best example is Itachi of course. If he doesn't preemptively destroy the Uchiha clan, then the Leaf avoids a Civil war and a possible World war. And who manipulated Itachi like a tool? Danzo.
5. If he cares for the Village, he cares for it's people. They go together. All of his underground work was to make it so the regular people didn't have to worry about the actual many many problems that the Leaf really had. Because of him, the Village (including it's people) could live peacefully with less worries.
6. This does not make him bad. He believed that he would be the best commander, and that could definitely be right, the Samurai guy said so himself. What he did was make an attempt to rule out all doubt that the best guy got the job. His style was to never take risks, and eliminate the problem at the root.
7. There was TOTALLY a need for this, are you kidding? If the Uchiha waged a war, not only they would all die anyways, but tons of other ninja and innocents would die as well. 100% necessary.
8. Wanted power to better defend the village. All he did was for the Leaf. He WAS jealous, but only because Hiruzen could better protect the Leaf than he could.
9. This is literally a restatement of your 8th point. Which wasn't true.
10. The Kabuto incident was also all for the Leaf. Considering the information Kabuto/the other lady had on the Leaf, an enemy village could EASILY use that to cause extreme troubles for the Leaf. Definitely a necessary risk.
Finally, you say a wise man would realize that what Danzo did was bad? A wise man would realize that he did good.
Honestly, the ninja world at the time, with so much war and mistrust was incredibly dangerous. For the Leaf, someone like Danzo NEEDED to step up and deal with that part of the world. He did it for the Leaf, and no one else did.
The Leaf's elders and even Hiruzen agree with me. I'm sure that if Hiruzen's attempts at diplomacy with the Uchiha's had failed (which I'm sure they would have) he would have agreed with the massacre. But he was in fact too slow. His diplomacy would have just led to the attack, and the war. Danzo made the right choice.
1. He was allied with Hanzo aka the guy who fought the 3 sanin. Ok. Akatsuki had nothing against the leaf during that time. Hanzo was a enemy of the leaf. And that is a fact.
2. Uh is that the reason why Danzo was worried that Orochimaru's affiliations with Danzo would put him at a great risk to not become hokage.
3. Actually he did. He stated Tsunade would protect the most.. But some sacrifices would be made for him to be hokage.
4. Leaf would have avoided Civil war Due to the third Hokage anyway. Danzo was against loosing power.. During Sarutobi's reign Danzo had power.. So if a uchiha stepped in Danzo goes bye-bye.
5. Sacrificing your people so you could become the village's hokage.. hmm not so caring for the people is it now. ;]. And like you said the people and the village go togather.. yet he massacred a clan of th leaf ;x.
6. Actually it means he wanted power.. Ok. We all know Raikage is the better commander.. why?? because he is a militant guy. Danzo is a sneaky weasel. And manipulating a WORLD LEADER isn't something?
7. The uchiha waged a Coup d'etat. Not a war. War is killing. War is when both sides want to fight. Coup de'tat is a revolution. NOT a WAR. It was up to the leaf to start a war (just like Sarutobi said).
8. He wanted power. He was aka the Stalin..Stalin cared for Russia. But he did screw up the people..
9. liltle bit different then the 8th.
10. uh yea it was for the leaf.. But Kabuto's mom was a leaf citizen. lmao. Danzo played with his ninja like puppets.. And threatening is against the WILL OF FIRE.
I already admitted he did good. Thats why he was in number 2 in the who did most for the leaf.. keyword the LEAF.
No.. At that point Akatsuki were the Right ones... not Hanzo. Akatsuki became "BAD" after Yahiko's death.
Hiruzen never would have failed why?? because he would have listened to them. Hiruzen went with the will of fire.. other 3 not so much. Sarutobi and the uchiha elders were friends (just like Sarutobi said). Again it was up to the leaders of the Leaf to cause a war.. not the uchiha.. Uchiha were basically bringing a revolution. The leaders didn't want to give uchiha political power. (just like they screw up every decision tsunade tried to make).
Conclusion: There is a difference between doing something for the village and doing it for the people of the village. A hokage's responsibility is to not let the villagers get hurt.. Which is why TSUNADE is a better hokage then Danzo.
The bottom of this post shows that you are neither an adult or have the capability of even understanding the will of fire.
and questioning my understanding of the will of fire.. Just makes me think if you even know what it stands for .. do you want me to explain it?
Will of Fire: It states that every true Konoha shinobi must love, believe, cherish and fight for the village's sake, as previous generations had done before them.
Now my question is.. Killing or letting villager's die is part of the philosophy that Hashirama lived by?
