Danzo actually represents a more disciplined and realistic shinobi, he's just put in a world where idealism reigns. He's not gonna take something like "stolen power" as an insult - he's the type to sacrifice pretty much anything for the sake of the village (which is the train of thought for a lot of people today that could easily become leaders).
