What was he doing during Pain's attack on the Leaf Village..??
Cause I think he just wanted power and so he wished to be the Hokage to get that power.... He stopped that frog so that the village would be destroyed and Tsunade would loose her Hokage status and he would get the Hokage's seat....

I want to see your answer about how someone that delayed Naruto's arrival in the village, with the whole village getting destroyed and thousands of victims, thinks he is a hokage material. And how is manipulating Itachi an achievement , and an heroic one too? He ,basically, just said Itachi go kill your family so they won't make a revolution. It was Itachi's heroic achievement that could kill all his inner feelings to protect the village. Oh , just remembered , wasn't he the one that had done an alliance with hanzo during the great war , killing lots of Konoha shinobi? Danzo is not a hero at all, he is a "bad guy", a character so hungry for power and control, willing to sacrifice ridiculous amount of stuff , and demanding others to do so.

Naruto is my favorite character, still I think Danzo is a dark hero.

He truly believed Konoha needed him as the Hokage. He truly believed everything he did was in favor for Konoha. He have done for YEARS all the cruel missions that no one wanted to do for Konoha to save it! He is a psycho hero!

Well , he made Sasuke hate Konoha even more by what he said during their fight and , the thing I hated him for the most is that he killed the messanger frog during Nagato vs Konoha. Not only for the frog ( which was kinda sympathetic but anyway) but because he delayed Naruto's arrival so Nagato destroyed the vilage. If kishi hadn't use that "trick" where the other frogs noticed his name vanishing and that granny frog collecting herbs near the village (cheap tricks to make naruto aware) who would have stopped Nagato?

Well, probably no one. Because he was going to leave to go to Naruto.
