Manga authors make their characters as realistic as can be, and that means even giving them low self esteem and the feeling of being inferior to their peers.

in part one from what we know sure. i mean itachi may not have had sasunoo as seen with sasuke it takes time to get to. and kisame may have still been working on his moves

also danzo did no seem to have low self esteem. he was confident even enough to use ka in a kage summit

Hmm....Koto Amatsukami does have a counter, sadly. It would be Enma. He pops Enma out, and it's game over, due to the fact that Enma can re-stabilize his chakra and break the genjutsu. I do agree that Danzo would have beaten him when Hiruzen fought Orochimaru at the Kage Summit, but there's also a great possibility it would be a draw due to Shiki Fuujin.

Prime Hiruzen versus a Prime Sharingan Danzo would be a great fight. If Hiruzen were given Mokuton, just in the manner of giving him higher chakra levels and physical stamina, again, it would be a great fight.

Current Danzo > Old Hiruzen most likely though.
